    well
let me say it this way
lcw though that he can win dpy with his 50%
so he play his 50% in the 1st set
    when the game progress further
    he notice that he cant
but its already too late to speed up at the end of 1st set
he was in 70% at 2nd and maybe 80% at 3rd
those who think lcw will lost
    can just pick cj;)

LCW has a reason not to tapau Du PengYu yesterday. He was expecting to win 1st set on a close points yesterday... but then anything can happen. But we did see him step on the gas on the 3rd set.

2010 Malaysian Open SS Quarter-Finals: Lee Chong Wei-vs-Chen Jin

    .
LCW should have learnt by now: Never to underestimate an opponent.
It's best for LCW to win as quickly as possible (in 2 games) when playing against CJ tonight.

Should LCW make it to the Semi-Finals tomorrow, he would be facing against one of our rising stars, [IMG][DEN] Jan O JORGENSEN or [IMG][VIE] Tien Minh NGUYEN.

Coming back from behind is never a sound way to play at tournament matches

    .
    Hi ants,

Please tell LCW tonight, when you meet him later, not to relax but to be more serious. Tell him to always keep his points(scores) ahead of his opponent's.

Coming back from behind is never a sound way to play at tournament matches.

So Lee Chong Wei has made it into the Semi-Finals, to played on Saturday 23-Jan-2010.

Observing how LCW played in Round 2 and in the Quarter-Finals, he has shown great determination to work hard to win. However, it appears that he is getting very tired. :crying::crying::crying:

    Recapping LCW's results;

    Round 1
Chong Wei LEE [1][IMG][MAS] defeated [IMG][ENG] Rajiv OUSEPH 21-14, 21-04, in 30 mins.

    Round 2
    Chong Wei LEE [1][IMG][MAS] defeated [IMG][CHN] Pengyu DU 21-23, 21-17, 21-14 in 69 mins.

    Quarter-Finals
    Chong Wei LEE [1][IMG][MAS] defeated [IMG][CHN] Jin CHEN [5] 21-14, 16-21, 21-15, in 70 mins.

At the Semi-Finals tomorrow, a fresher challenger, Tien Minh NGUYEN[IMG], is waiting for him. Will a tired LCW be able to make it into the Finals?

LOL. Always keep points ahead of opponent, don't come from behind. Why not make your advice simpler. One word. "Win."
If things were only so simple like brushing your teeth before going to bed.

maybe LCW was instructed to "make the game more interesting for the sake of the paying spectators"? :D

There are many different tactics used to win a match

    .
There are many different tactics used to win a match.
    * If fitter, use prolonged rallies to tire out your opponent. Drain his stamina.
    * If not as fit, win the match quickly with whatever skill you have; don't waste extra energy.

However, the tactics used to win a tournament is the sum of individual matches' tactics. Once an opponent is eliminated, there is another one waiting; until one arrived at the Finals.

If LCW wants to win the tournament, then he should reserve energy to face his next opponent. Not just thinking on just one match at a time, but plan for combined matches up to the Finals.

From what is observed, LCW will be in great danger when facing a fresher NTM at tomorrow's Semi-Finals. It's just my opinion. :):):)

I doubt NTM can beat CW. But it's highly likely that it will be another exhausting 3-setter.

Suppose PG can finish BP quickly, I would say LCW is in great danger and PG has good chance revenging... :D

Thats what they said about the Clippers beating the Lakers, The USA hockey team beating Russia, the New York Giants beating the New England Patriots, etc. Any given day, any given time....i really hope NTM can beat CW, im a fan of both of them but all the pressure is on LCW to win...NTM can come out and play his relaxed aggressive game and who knows....david slays goliath?? :p

It is more like LCW is in danger of himself, rather than against fresh opposition. His tendency to invite the opponent to attack can backfire if his defence is not watertight. Last night, the defence crumbled quite a number of times. That he can win rallies easily is a given, whether he uses the ability all the time is up to him.

Even the Famemas supporters yesterday were silent for long periods of time when they sensed LCW in trouble. Credit to him that he could dig himself out of trouble this time, but people don't pay for tickets to support him only to see LCW putting himself in trouble first.

Avataar and I both agree that what actually happened at the India Open last year was similar to this. LCW was flirting with danger while trailing CL and did not have sufficient points margin to claw back.

After that, you just need to blame it on an upset stomach or Indian delicacy.
