You gotta admit if there's one think Ng has mastered that's keeping composure in crucial stage of the match. He never looses concentration in the final points, an admirable trait.

Alas that's also something every Indian MS player lacks.
BTW Sameer kept HY at two arms distance and won comfortably, he's the only hope remaining

Srikanth Kidambi appears to be low on confidence and hesitant with his play. He needs to beat some top players and not lose to unknown players. Back to training and the basics.
Sameer Verma the lone survivor. Sourabh Verma was a missed opportunity. Nightmare India SS for MS.

What is the difference between Srikanth Kidambi and Tien Chen Chou? Both are fine physical specimen. So, why did the results ditch Srikanth and married with Chou?

Chou Tien Chen, Wang Tzu Wei, Tanongsak, Wei Nan, and Hu Yun (but he's getting older and weaker) - they are bludgeons , tight net play and lots of speed.

Wang Tzu Wei has left Tian Houwei far behind in terms of Development. Both were at similar stage few years ago.

Well done Chinese Taipei Badminton Team///

You have a gem in your hand now.

15-5 feels like a gulf in Class....Really? Am I saying that? Both were at similar level last year.

I haven't watched top level matches for 7 years till now so it was just a little bit underwhelming to see the speed. I really expected it to be faster in real life.

Still looks fast on video but it just wasn't when spectating. Oh well will be there on 1, 3 & 4 as well.

In India, Carolina marin said in an interview "I won't let Saina to become world no. 1".
For that, Saina replied " If she does not let me be the world no.1, lets see if she becomes world no.1".

    Ha ha. :)

do you see saina going back to top form that she's in, world no1...? Let's see, i'd like to be world no1 so i don't think saina...

i think the indian media try to make them like Lee–Lin rivalry

More like Marin versus India. They do need to do something to generate readership and charge advertising revenues. What better way than blowing up some trash talk..:D

    Thanks for the links.
She was subtle in replying the same in different perspective.
But media blew it like anything.
Now, I have to check whether saina also said that or not.

Chou looks back to his fine form lately and his junior compatriot Wang Tzu Wei starts to impress badminton fans since German Open last February.

Wang TW shows tremendous development in Europe tour recently, he beat Chen Long in Mulheim then forced Lee Chong Wei work harder in Birmingham, followed by being semifinalist in Basel, lost three games to Shi Yuqi. Meanwhile Tian Houwei is stuck, lazy bones, no determination, really inconsistent. I'm afraid his fate will be ended up like Wang Zhengming, former world junior champion who fails to shine at senior stage.

Today's MS quarterfinal will pay attention to strong favourite, twice beaten finalist here in last two editions, Viktor Axelsen against Wang Tzu Wei who outclassed Tian Houwei yesterday. Axelsen demonstrated his aggressive style and solid defense to frustrate local hopeful Srikanth Kidambi who has no self belief and produced so many errors in that match. Home last man standing in this category, Sameer Verma knocked out 4th seed Son Wan Ho at opening round and Hu Yun in last sixteen will find young challenger Anders Antonsen, one more Danish player in the fray, Hans Kristian Vittinghus has the resurgent Chou Tien Chen. 8th seed Angus Ng Ka Long who survived in thrilling match against Sourabh Verma will see Indonesian number one Tommy Sugiarto.

Women's singles last eight round is pretty much going to the script, all Japan affairs will pit Akane Yamaguchi vs Nozomi Okuhara and two Indian aces face each other this evening, Saina Nehwal v P.V. Sindhu. Carolina Marin will be tested by resilient Japanese shuttler Minatsu Mitani. Reigning champion Ratchanok Intanon finds real test the in-form Sung Ji Hyun today after eliminated the inexperienced Chinese second-stringers, Gao Fangjie-Zhang Yiman respectively at two previous rounds.
