    Sponsoring pros is clever marketing!

If the worlds best players suddenly accepted sponsorship from victor.............victors sales would go through the roof.

If it was victor which was sponsoring the top players and was getting all of the visual attention I have a feeling that your statement would be reversed.

Most of the general public will always be willing to pay that extra few dollars to use the same equipment as the pros which they idolize. I'm not saying this applies to everyone who shops for racquets. You will always have the people who are brand loyal and will purchase a specific brand of racquet no matter what the price.

The rest of us who are not purchasing based on brand loyalty can see past the marketing hype. We don't look to the television to see what the pros are using but seek educated opinions and research specs/playing styles. We know that there are ecquivilant racquets out there for less and if they suit our style and are asthetically pleasing we will buy them without question.

Yes, they are pretty pricey. But for me i do not change rackets like my underwear and in 15 years of playing i have never broken a racket! Maybe due to the fact that i never string over 24lbs.

Changing rackets every 6months is expensive and in a way a waste of money having near new rackets accumulating in you bag.

Recently i played a backhand and the racket flew out of my hand. the racket flew maybe 20meters in the air and hit the ground :p Funny enough the shuttle was still struck but instead of a bh clear it was a cross court drop that dribbled over the net and was a winner!......deception lol:p The racket was not chipped or anything.

Only in the last 3years have i used yonex. They are nice rackets. I am not a 'yonex man'. To me a good racket is a good racket and brand doesn't matter.

Oh and that comment on 'asian made'?????? Nothing wrong with that!

I think Japanese made is better than American made. Made in taiwan or china doesn't matter to me etiher.

being sponsored by Victor, I guess I'm not too objective. Although, I fell in love with the Armortec 500, and found the Nanospeed 5 to be a better version of it, so I'm happy.

Yonex is the first to have racket made of carbon. Before it's all wood. yonex is the first to have the good racket. and yeah, I don't buy other brand's racket cuz it's not yonex...
