    here is my choice:

Ms : it will be between Lin dan . taufit...as top contenders...lee chong wei and peter gade as my 3 4 choice......wong choong han ..has very big chance in to the final..somehow as bad luck for big title.....seems like he is always in the final but no never able to win the title( c if lee can make the history
Ws : for sure it will be one of the chinese girl
Md: first choice will be sigit and candra...they r red hot ......second will be cai/fu ....still wondering how far howard and tony can go...will they make final 4?? there r no offensive to malaysian fans...i just don' feel malaysia will win the title..just like the single player.....always second place..they do need luck on their side to win...( remember 2004AE..win the first game....led in the second...suddenly seems lee wah hwa /chong tan foo didn't know how 2 play anymore :(..
Wd: if no suprised ..still will be in chinese girls hand
Mx : i might go for the yong korea pair...somehow i feel korea always has best in the mix pair......

taufik is a talented player as all we know
he don't miss any chance to win if he want to, OG is a good example
so i think he will concentrate on the WC and play on his top against any rival
    he will, and he can
there is no doubt that he will be the ultimate winner, right?;)

    i agree...
he can overcome any trouble cause he is mature now
i think he is thinking over how to adjust his form to the top and save his stamina for the WC. you know, he is so clever and even a little archness:p
let's expect his perfect performance in his birthmonth:)

    Winner

For MS event, when/who was the last ranked #1 player won the World Championship title? I think rank 4-10 have better chance to win base on history?

MS : Lee Chong Wei/Hafiz Hashim, Taufik or Chen Hong (definitely not Lin Dan, Bao or Gade/KJ). Can't understand how Lin Dan lost to LCW after leading, the bad line calls didn't even come at critical moments. I've seen him get bad calls and win before.
Bao just can't win against some opponents. Gade/KJ I think don't have enough strength to get through. They won't have enough time to recover from one hard match after another.

WS : Zhang Ning, unless Mia Audina can do something (doubtful)

MD : Chandra/Sigit or the Danish Pairs. Chinese/Koreans haven't learned to vary their speed yet, M'sians don't have enough depth in attack.

    WD : Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen

XD : Korean pair Lee/Jang, Emms/Robertson or Gao Ling/Zhang Jun

MS: Gade. Two-times runner up. Even a bit old, but Hendrawan did it at 28. And, man! I love this guy more than any Chinese players except Xia. (I'm Chinese) Taufik is great, but sorry Mr. Hidayat, one crown is enough. Lin Dan will be kicked out early. Lee Chong Wei is not good enough to get in the final.

WS: Zhang Ning. She deserves all! An amazing lady.

    WD: Zhang/Yang.

MD: Sigit/Wijana. Great to see they come back. Without Kim/Ha, they are the best. This time, they will beat any Danish players.

XD: Zhang/Gao. This luckiest pair will continue their success.

There won't be another kim, nor another ra. And highly unlikely, another kim AND ra.

LOL:D. sometimes i wonder (with glee!) the boost thesse posts will give these badminton players' fighting spirit if they should visit BF!:p ("Lin Dan will be kicked out early":p). when that happens, Gade will, of course all the more encouraged by everyone's belief in him, feel pushed to perform. while taufik will set out (yet again) to prove he can be un-moody when he wants to. .. chong wei has just as high a chance to reach the final as the other top players, really. his craftiness in the game which is very much comparable to lindan's, is something many other players don't very much have.

but in my remembrance, taufik once drank until midnight before game, someone who knows him said it happened quite often a few years ago;)
he just want to do everything on his own way:p
    a cool boy, right?

If he can keep his discipline and consistency, I would rate Taufik's chances as better than any Chinese MS including Lin Dan. Then all he needs to watch out for are Lee Chong Wei or Gade.

Taufik's last fight with Gade at S'pore Open was damn close, it should have been the final. Don't know what actually happened to him agains LCW in Malaysian Open one week later. Even with injuries (??), that's no way to lose.

I see Hafiz too has similar consistency issues as Taufik.

    taufik at guru level

    it's not about consistency issues,
taufik is badmiton guru :D,he's rich enough with beautiful girlfriend, he doesn't pursue a winning.. he plays depend on his mood,
the ranking is not important to him, because he believes he can beat any player anytime he wants, so he doesn't bother to play with #1,2,3 or 4 seeded in first round.

if he intends to win, he will will :D

    i agree with you basically...
but i don't think taufik doesn't pursue a winning cause any player just wants to win the game when he is IN
he behaved immature at one time but has good improvement after winning OG
i think he will be more and more tactful on controlling the game rhythm and especially his own mood in the future
    may his dream come true:)

    i agree with u also

sure he does pursues a winning, but he doesn't push too much :D
maybe he thinks he can play for 4 or 6 years ahead and not rush to collect championship titles :).

not like chinese players, their 'life cycle' are very short, they must collect champioship titles as many as posible while they're young (18-25/26 old years, excpetion for zang ning)

a small error: her name is zhang ning:)

well, maybe our badminton team has more young playesr who give the olders big pressure than other countries. they must keep good form and win the more title as they can.
competion is very cruel sometimes but you have to face it.
but if i don't misremember, i heard of taufik said he would retire in two or three years if he could't get the content achievement.
he proclaimed he won't attend OG 2008. you know, GADE felt very surprised by that news.
