It is maybe a bit early to make predictions on the world championships...
There are quite a few Grand Prix events coming this spring still...

Since we're in the mood for early predictions:

Lee Chong Wei (could improve a lot in the next few months)
Zhang Ning (will regain fitness and endurance)
Fu/Cai (the hardest pair to defeat)
Yang/Zhang (the hardest pair to defeat)
Zhang/Gao (they will regain their form)

Ok, for the fun of early prediction...

    MS - Bao Chunlai
This guy will be out to prove he's not always only the 2nd or 3rd best in the Chinese team.

MD - One of the new Korean pair (possibly Lee Jae Jin & his partner)
The young Koreans are fast to make their presence felt, though the seniors have just retired recently.

    WS - Xie Xingfang
Too hot for the rest, even after 6 months from now.

WD - Wong Pei Tty/Chin Eei Hui
This is my craziest pick. But they certainly need is a lucky draw - that is not to cross path against Yang/Zhang and Huang/Gao. The top 2 Chinese need to be beaten by the Koreans - Lee/Lee; and Thais - current world no 4 in the quarter-finals stage. Wong/Chin stand a chance of against Chinese no 3 & no 4 - Wei/Zhao or Du/Yu if drawn against them in the last 8 stage. Then, play the top Taiwanese or Japanese pair in semis and face-off with the top Thais in final.
Certainly a dream, but has a slim chance of becoming true. :p

XD - Any of the existing top pair will do, as long as NOT Nathan/Gail.

    My picks:

MS - Taufik Hidayat: Assuming his knee is fully healed and he's fit, this is his title to lose.

2nd pick: Lin Dan: Besides Taufik, he's dominated the tour. If Taufik loses, I'm picking him to win.

WS - Zhang Ning: She is the most skillful of all the WS players. If she gets more fit and focused on her training, this will also be her title to lose.

2nd pick - Xie Xingfang: On a winning streak. She's the hottest player right now(even moreso than Lin Dan), but I'm guessing she will run out of steam at Anaheim.

MD - Cai/Fu: Without any of the top Korean pairs playing anymore and coming off their AE win, they are the pair to beat. If they add more consistency to their game, they'll be hard to beat. Biased pick.

    2nd pick - Candra/Sigit: Their last hurrah? It's possible. :D

WD - Yang/Zhang: The strongest women's doubles pairing, although they've lost recently to Lee/Lee and Gao/Huang. The best attacking/defending team.

2nd pick - Wei/Zhao: Another biased pick. ;) One of the more creative WD pairs, they're the dark horse, assuming they don't run into other China teams.

XD - Robertson/Emms: Hot right now.

2nd pick - Natsir/Widianto and Lee/Lee: Can't pick between them. Two newly formed teams that have made a big impact already.

Hahaha i like your prediction. Wong/Chin WD's champion cool man :D I definitely agree with you on Bao Chun Lai. I have the feeling that SPRING(CHUN) is gonna be extended at least till the end of World Championship in California. As for XD, i go for the "TomYam" pair of talented Sudket and beautiful Saralee :D

MS : Hafiz Hashim(Mas)......when he is in top form..how many chinese players also cant stop him from winnning

MD : Alven/Luluk (Ind)....though the matches played by them are not very intersenting....their drive shots and fast game are the key for their victory

WS : Mia Audina (Ned)...i think she is only interested in big tournament...so her bad performance in other tournaments cannot be used as yardstick...juz look..wen she was very unfit...she also can make it to the semi in all england 2005...but i hope it will be another battle between mia and zhang:cool: in final

WD : Gao/Huang (Chn).....they will bounce back to outclass yang and zhang

    MX : Lee/Lee (Kor)....the next kim and ra:cool:
