i agree...fu/cai will likely repeat...but after them, china has absolutely no other chance in the MDs...it seems as they just produce a likely champion in every category and leave it at that...but after fu/cai, who do they have? guo/xie? zhang jun and zheng bo?, he/shen?, all are not good enough to win a championship =\...

CHN certainly knows Quality does matter most compare to Quantity.. Looks at how many pairs emerge frm MAS team ... ONLY KKK/TBH have produce acceptable results.. The rest of them... its a shameful..

not really...they've all had their time in some sort of okay result...MAS team has quantity but does have plenty of quality results from each or most of them...i wouldn't say shameful...look below as i have listed each MAS MD team results...

MAS SS = 2/4 for good results, didn't count 1 MAS elim the other

    ONG/TAN [Q]; quarter finals (Beat Fu/Cai),
    KOO/TAN [Q]; Winner (obviously),
    CHAN/HOON; 1st round (but elim by KOO/TAN),
    CHOONG/LEE [3/4]; 1st round (only bad result),
    MOHD TAZARI/LIN [5/8]; 2nd round (average result)

KOR SS = 2/3 for good results didn't count 2 MAS elim other and other elim by 2nd seed...

    CHAN/HOON; 1st round (bad result)
    KOO/TAN [Q]; Winner (obviously 2 in a row),
    CHEW/HONG [Q]; 1st round (as qualifiers, it's expected, which makes Koo/Tan unexpected ;))
    CHOONG/LEE [3/4]; quarter finals (elim by KOO/TAN)
    TAN/ONG [Q]; 2nd round (as qualifiers and elim by 2nd seed Eriksen/Hansen)
    GAN/ABDUL LATIF; 1st round (elim by TAN/ONG)

AE SS = 2/3, didn't count 2 MAS that got elim by 1st and 2nd seeds

    TAN/ONG [Q]; 2nd round (elim by 1st seeded Fu/Cai)
MOHD TAZARI/LIN; 2nd round (bad result)
    KOO/TAN [5/8]; winner (obviously 3rd in a row)
    CHOONG/LEE [5/8]; quarter finals (elim by 2nd seeds Eriksen/Hansen)
    ABDUL LATIF/GAN; 2nd round (elim by 2nd seeds Eriksen/Hansen)

SWISS SS = 2/5, only one that CTF/LWW had bad result

    KOO/TAN [5/8]; winner (4th in a row)
ABDUL LATIF/GAN; 1st round (bad result)
    TAN/ONG; 1st round (bad result)
    CHOONG/LEE [3/4]; 1st round (REALLY bad result)
CHAN/HOON; quarter finals (elim by 2nd seed Eriksen/Hansen)

SP SS = 2/4, didn't count 2 MAS elim other, and 1 MAS elim by 1st seed

    TAN/ONG; 2nd round (elim by 1st seed Fu/Cai)
    GAN/LIN; 1st round (bad result)
    ADBUL LATIF/MOHD TAZARI; quarter finals
    KOO/TAN [5/8]; 1st round (elim by ABDUL LATIF/MOHD TAZARI)
    KHOO/ABDUL LATIF [Q]; 1st round (bad result)
    CHAN/HOON; 1st round (elim by CHOONG/LEE)
    CHOONG/LEE [5/8]; finalist

***INA SS = 4/6, best result for MAS MD so far, even though none won

    CHOONG/LEE [5/8]; quarter finals
    KOO/TAN [5/8]; semi finals
    GAN/LIN; 2nd round (elim by 4th seed CW/TG)
    TAN/ONG; 1st round (elim by 4th seed CW/TG)
CHAN/HOON; quarter finals (elim by ABDUL LATIF/MOHD TAZARI)
    ABDUL LATIF/MOHD TAZARI; finalists

CHN SS [1] = 1/2, pretty bad, but KOO/TAN did not compete

    TAN/ONG; semi finals
ABDUL LATIF/MOHD TAZARI [5/8]; 2nd round (bad result)
    CHOONG/LEE [3/4]; 2nd round (bad result)
    CHEW/HONG; 2nd round (elim by 2nd seed Kido/Setiawan)
    CHAN/HOON; 1st round (elim by 2nd seed Kido/Setiawan)

as you can see, the most consistant good results came from KOO/TAN and CHOONG/LEE, but when they don't do well, the others step up or they all step up together (INA SS)...so to say that all other MAS MD pairs produce shameful results outside of KKK/TBH is far from the truth ;)...some pair always steps up and produces at least 1 good result...WHY?...cause QUANTITY DOES MATTER :D

Out of countless MAS MD Pair.. ONLY Khoo & Chong Pairs won title so far...
Do u fink Semifinal place for TBS/OSH in CO & Finals apperance for Zakry's pair i IO is enought to consider a success??
OK> Then Lets wait & see.. In coming WC, its 4 MAS pair vs 2 CHN PAir... To be judge for Quality over Quantity and who will finally come out on top...

well they did have to get into the finals some way right? they weren't just awarded the place...and we can't really talk about the level of competition on their end of the table because MDs are really closely pacted moreso than the singles...but my point was that with quantity, or at least average to pretty good comparable pairs will likely have more chance to have a chance to get into the finals of WC rather than 1 (albeit my favourite pair ;] ) and 1 average doubles pair...right? guo/xie really don't have great results to speak of either...so i guess it pretty much speaks for itself...but my original point was that quantity does matter, and the other MAS MD didn't have shameful results ;)...

Put aside Feng Yun, ONLY two-3 KOREA pairs compete in TO...Compare with MAS team which i believe have the largest oversea contigent for TO in MD dept.
But JJS/LYD & LJJ/HJM certainly proove that Quality win over MAS MD Quantity participants.. Even with LYD just making a comback from an injury. His results in TO makes All the pairs in MAS team to worry about

You sound like a parochial supporter with no patience. I hope you were not one of those who casted your doubts about LCW coming back when he was down. Coz if you were, you have not learned anything.

lolz LCW will definately make quarters ;)...unless, however impossible, his draw happens to be 1st round taufik, 2nd round lin dan...=P...so i definately concur ahaha...but a malaysian going into space is definately possible....in the next.....couple decades? or something?...i know nothing of current space programs besides the americans, the canadians, chinese and russians XD....but beres/milroy will fight for at least a 2nd round birth =P

A Malaysian is definitely going with the Russians to space --- he is training now with the Russian. So Beres-Milroy is definitely going into 2nd round. I will cheer for them, my friend.

that awesome to hear...every country needs a representative in space, it's just something of a great accomplishment LOL...but canada also needs a good result somewhere =\...never mind winning any major championships yet, we have yet to grab a good result in big tournaments....and beres is getting old LOL...we don't have the developmental system most asian countries do...although this would probably be the only place i can play on the national team for in the future XD...i will cheer for the MAS pairs unless they play against Fu/Cai ;)....and LCW all the way LOL....just sad that chen hong probably won't win ><
