Oops, sorry, he's still MAS player, that tiny MAS flag at the BWF site match screen really looks like the Star Spangled Banner, and i am not too familiar with his nationality.

You must be wrong to look MAS flag which almost same with USA flag at the glimpse :D
Zhou ZQ lost to Liew Daren, only Zhao JP remains, CHN in deeply crisis to produce MS good talent.

Good God that tiny flag icon on BWF matches page, well if a Singaporean player with Indonesia's origin & name is playing, i can easily make the same mistake too.

I think CHN will never be lacking of raw talent, but ones that can really shine at world stage seem to be in short supply nowadays.

It's really difficult to seek podium perfomance players while the average talents are a lot.

Agreed, and it happens to any (main) badminton country, no matter how good their development stage is. Just one of those (short) dry spell, i think.

Zhou Zeqi beat Iskandar but lost to Darren Liew. Zhao Junpeng disposed of Ajay Jayaram and H K Vittinghus, awaiting him next is Viktor Axelsen, end of the road for him tomorrow, most probably.

CHN 2nd tier MS is short of top talents.

Both CHN Open winner and runner-up find their short journey here.

Han Yue put up a credible fight against Akane, it seemed, going by the score.

Li Xuerui pushed hard by Gao Fangjie, losing G3 tamely. LXR's comeback trail looks worrisome now, she's facing another challenge, this time by her junior compatriots who are also vying for that precious OG spot, and none of them will give her any quarters.

In fact, at least five of her junior teammates are up-and-coming just at roughly the same time as she is making a concerted effort to come back and aim for Tokyo 2020, a tough road ahead of her indeed, in addition to those foreign top players she's to contend with.

Apparently, CHN MS appear to be on the slide while their WS is on the up, a surprising turn of event for Team China, Xia Xuanze is saddled with a new problem just when he thought he's making some progress in WS.

Ihsan Maulana Mustofa who won INA Masters Super 100 recently still has big gap with elite players, Mustofa looked promising at beginning at his career but far behind from teammates Ginting & Christie now.

Ihsan Maulana Mustofa is still looking pretty shitty even after just winning a tournament last week. Lost meekly 18-21 / 14-21 against Chou Tien Chen, net shots are bad, defense sucks.

Is a luxury to talk about 2nd tier talents. Indonesia, Malaysia and most are happy to have top 1st tier talent. Forget about having 2nd tier talent
