Well, as a defense, it's rather unusual for a chinese malaysian badminton player to put an anglo first name, rather than the standard chinese name they usually bear (different pronounciation vs CHN player names, i know). Coupled with that tiny flag icon on the matches page, fact that he was an old player (independent ?) like Tommy Sugiarto not representing MAS NT nowadays presumably, i just assume right away that he was a chinese american playing for team USA.

Major upset, top-seed Viktor Axelsen lost patience, being error-proned particularly in second game, can't pass the explosive Chinese player Zhao Junpeng, 25-27 / 9-21.

This is fun and nice music, on zhangyutv
Indeed, a big upset, beyond my expectation. Zhao Junpeng played an impressive fast attacking game, nearly screwed up G1 losing a good lead but was able to win the deuces. Then in G2, Viktor somehow played a loose game, became temperamental and committing several unforced errors, even returning a shuttle under the net by flicking it all the way to the side onto the blue carpet area which elicited ZJP's displeasure at which the umpire issued VA a verbal warning.

R/32 Kazumasa Sakai then either Antonsen or Caljouw at last sixteen. Talking about DEN 750 MS draw, the much anticipated match is Ginting-Momota showdown, they will facing off at opening round.
