He/Tan just came back from 18-20 to 22-20 in 1st set, now leading in big gap, the opponents had ran out of gas...

Both ladies are error-prone today, uncharacteristic errors, all sorts of errors, an error-laden game.

Cai Yanyan , the survivor, 21-19 in the decider, from 19-all, could've gone either way

All I can say for JOJ is that he missed a good opportunity to catch Lin Dan in one of his worst forms.

I don't think he even had the chance. Lin Dan kept pulling away whenever JOJ managed to catch up. LD didn't play at his best but he was still able to keep a bit ahead than his opponent.
Fortunate for LD that JOJ wasn't Ginting who had the extra gear near the end of the match.

How many MD seeds got booted out today?

Of course we look for the 1st 2rounds for upsets. If its QF then its not upset anymore cause its top 8

I dont know if seeds are tired since its reaching end of year especially in MD where lots of focus and concentration is needed not just physical.

Aaron/Soh finally beat their early nemesis, Bodin/Jongjit in two close game. Hopefully they can reach QF or beyond here. Not much hope, though.

    ROUND OF 16 (12.00pm, 4 Courts) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...F74681-A9A8-487F-8C60-E1F23803BB7E&d=20180927

    *Match Highlights :
    - Wang Tzu Wei (TPE) v Anthony Sinisuka Ginting (INA)
    - Lin Dan (CHN) v Kenta Nishimoto (JPN)
    - Akane Yamaguchi (JPN) v Chen Xiaoxin (CHN)
    - Cai Yanyan (CHN) v Zhang Beiwen (USA)
    - Kirsty Gilmour (SCO) v Ratchanok Intanon (THA)
    - Kamura/Sonoda (JPN) v Kim GJ/Lee YD (KOR)
    - Chen HL/Wang CL (TPE) v Hoki/Kobayashi (JPN)
    - Tang JH/Yu XH (CHN) v Tanaka/Yonemoto (JPN)
    - Seo SJ/Chae YJ (KOR) v Adcock/Adcock

Men's singles top guns book second round spot in relatively comfortable, Axelsen, Momota, Son WH, Chou TC, Ginting clear opening hurdle in two straight-games. The most intriguing tie involves two-time Olympic Champion Lin Dan who's far from convincing fashion how he beat former Danish number one Jan O Jorgensen. Slow movement, error-proned displayed by 35 years old Lin, the age factor sooner or later will impact his overall performance and hamper his Tokyo 2020 mission. Top-seed Axelsen will up against CHN second-stringer Zhao Junpeng while soon to be world number one Momota will be challenged by Anders Antonsen.

Three CHN-JPN affairs happen in WS last sixteen, top-seed Akane Yamaguchi will take on Chen Xiaoxin, Saena Kawakami opposes the tall Gao Fangjie who disposes her senior Li Xuerui in rubber game, one more in bottom-half draw Sayaka Takahashi will meet Zhang Yiman. Other favourites are expected to through into last eight, Nozomi Okuhara, Saina Nehwal, Ratchanok Intanon, Sung Ji Hyun.

A bad day for Denmark MD pairs where their two top-ranked combinations Conrad/Kolding and newly-crowned CHN Open champion Astrup/Rasmussen become first round casualty. The comeback home stars Kim GJ/Lee YD defeat Russian duo Ivanov/Sozonov narrowly, 22-20 / 21-16. A tough task await them tomorrow, the energetic Japanese Kamura/Sonoda. In women's doubles, all Japan pairs march on to second round, high possible to see rematch of CHN open final, Matsumoto/Nagahara v Matsutomo/Takahashi on Friday's quarterfinal.

Please, does anyone know where we can get to see replays of matches played over the last two days? I can't seem to find any in the usual websites.

Great to see young talents like Lin Dan managing to stop old stalwarts like Jan O Jorgensen.
