Don't think they'll shift many at that price

This is true, those players that have discounts are very lucky. In our place, we have to buy shuttles from stores because the shuttles from the gym where we play are more expensive.

I also stumpled about the Wilde offer. For this price I can get two tubes of AS20 and have some change for a smoothie at MC Donald's.;) IMO the price is not competitive. I mean, you can get for 25€ a tube of very decent feather shuttles. Even if the Carbonsonic tube lasts much longer, I have a barrier to put 25€ on the table. The Nylon guys who play 6 Mavis for 9€ wouldn't spend 25€ now and the feather guys who are just curious don't buy a pig in a poke. Somebody who like gorgeous beefsteaks for 25€ would never spend 25€ for a soysteak which is the half portion but makes you full for 2 days.

19.90 and shipping equals 22 something. Still i am testing it. (Bought it with some other things)

First impression; i hit it a bit round my room, and it does feel like feather shuttle. The carbon parts are the stems of the 'feather'. The stems feels stiffer than real feather. My concern is the styrofoam feather leaves.

I would comment on the real feel and how long it would last later.

Woah! Where do you buy 2 tubes of AS-20 for 22€ (I assume that one Mcd smoothy costs 2€)? ;)

Pay 12 per tube at the club. We have a contract with Yonex. If your are a member of a bigger club in a bigger City and play not for the BC Kuhdorf Usedom you get a discount.

Ok; short version after 2 hours session.
This particular carbonsonic shuttle is presumably on the wrong speed for this weather, so it is generally a tad lighter.

I just need one of them for two hours training and play. But it does fly in a quite strange way. When you hit it hard enough it is similar to feather. But if you hit it for net ball, it spins way too wild.

And i also can see that the ball spins to fly head first, not like most of feather shuttle that i used. It reminded myself of that strange feather shuttle i used from Indonesia. It is like, it is awkwardly balanced. (Probably the cork is a bit too heavy?); In this i mean, most of the feather shuttle will fly head first waaay earlier, even if it is hit with lower power.

It sounds like feather when it is being hit. Not like any nylons. I would even dare to say, it could well replace some lower tiered feather shuttle like aero club or AS10 and lining as 60. But of course it could not yet replace better shuttle.
I will try again on Friday.

By the way, the problem with damage does not come from the cork or the carbon feathers.. but the rope or string that tie them..

Should take a video of your okay with it! Very curious. Shows promise if the strings are the weak point, I feel like that's a much easier remedy than the actual feathers and cork.

They stop spinning? That's very strange. Wonder what causes it.

Stop spinning? That sounds like any plastic shuttle would do.

Finally, the Carbonsonics seem to be officially released in Europe soon. At least a number of German online shops have listed the CS No. 2 in their shops for pre-order. Pricing is still very bold with 20 EUR excl. shipping for 6 shuttles. Especially since only the No.2 with supposedly mostly artifical cork will be available.

I'm currently fightig with myself if I should order a tube for testing along with my next A300 order.

    EDIT:
Just seen that e78 is selling the CS No.1 (natural cork) for 89 HKD (see https://e78.us/CS1) which is around 10 EUR per tube. I seriously wonder what the guys at Victor Europe were smoking when they decided about their sales price...

Thanks for keeping us up to date! Where do you buy your A300's in Europe?

Had a go with these Carbonsonics for warmup drills few weeks ago. Sounds crisper and feels nicer on hitting than Mavis 2000. But feels light and has a noticeably significant delay before turning over on the racket face when struck. And worst of all, doesn't seem as durable as a good feather shuttle even though it may cost just as much or more...

Can't see how this current version can sell...

That doesn't sound like a great USP, inferior flight characteristics, less durable, more expensive. Not sure they'll catch on.

In Germany it's bsl24.de or smoof.de that are both selling A300s. Really hope they won't stop anytime soon.

    @visor
Your post alone enforced my decision not to order the Carbonsonics now. Worse durability than quality feather shuttles (seriously?) with almost double the price? No, thank you.
