The trainer was talking about 1 h 30 .... but is the shuttle really dead or just injured, I don't know. When we play with a babolat 4 for example it breaks during the match, and it's 1,50 € the shuttle. We can hope that the price will be cheaper if we buy more than one box.

It works out cheaper if you don't buy awful shuttles. Babolat 4s end up costly.

At least we get an idea why they haven't hit the market with a big boom. 66 strokes and it looks like this? Come on, that's pathetic.

Right? Why wouldn't you just use grade feathers?

Yup. A decent A300 shuttle after 66 more or less clean hits looks like new. The Carbonsonics would need at least three to four times the durability of a good feather shuttle to really make them attractive IMO.

Could be worst... 66 net shots XD
a normal feather shuttle like AS 30 can withstand 66 clears better than that ...

As long as the core of the feather holds and the flight stay somewhat consistent despite that light burn they should be ok. (for intermediate, training sessions or recreational levels)

Replace the foam part when it really get destroyed and hit them again, witch look easier to do compared to feathers.

Sometimes unusable feather shuttlecock looks brand new except for that specific fully broken one ruining completely the flight.

IMO the guys who hit it play a significant role. I can play a MD at my club with guys who waste 8 feathers to unuseable state in a 3 set game with ease or guys who just need 3.

As long as the price is better than feathers, I wouldn't mind how much shuttles I would need. I change shuttles when the fly not good anymore, not when they don't look good anymore and if this synthetic shuttle flies still alright, I don't have an issue to bin it.

    Exactly.

Well this synthetic things hopefully could be the nice middleman between the plastics (that just throw your feel and accuracy off..) with feathers..(which we know.. precious).

With Victor in the mix. I hope it would push Yonex and also Li Ning in the market. Not that mavis is that bad.. I do have elbow injuries, just because!

Got mine from Yumo today and tested it with my friends. The shuttle is still not quite at the level of a real feather shuttle yet. Seems quite heavy and fast like a plastic shuttle with the exception that it has the nice feather sound when hit. :D

I bought a tube of the no.1 and no.2 of the new Victor carbon fiber shuttlecocks from yumo to try out. Of course, we know no plastic or synthetic feather shuttlecock will feel like the real feather ones. But after dropping 8 hours on the shuttles, and we only broke 3 out of 6, I would say that's pretty durable, consider how intense we hit them in clears and smashes, plus plenty of mishits from the beginners.

The no.1 is the one that has the real cork, and we like them better than the no.2, which has the synthetic cork. The speed is a bit slow compare to feather ones, but that is to be expected. The hitting sound is pretty close to regular feather shuttles (not the top feather ones of course ). The hitting feel is acceptable, and it feels like a good durable alternative to the real feather ones. At least it can stand a 4 hours session without breaking, that is always good in our books. It feels much better than our plastic shuttles , which are really terrible. I definitely appreciate the innovation from Victor. Hope this will be the beginning of more new shuttlecock techs to come!

Just found them in a German shop: http://www.badminton-wilde.de/VICTOR-Carbonsonic-6-er-Dose

Looking at the order code it should be the No.1 with the natural cork. But still... I just couldn't make myself to pay 25 EUR incl. shipping for 6 nylon (sorry.... carbon...) shuttles.
Let's see if more stores will bring them on stock soon.
