+ 1 for the first para + 1 for the 2nd para + 1 for the 3rd para +3 total . I think a record has been created here.
Wasn't comparing the two incidents. I was implying that if Marin had done exactly the same thing as WSX did in this match and lost to Okuhara in this final, a lot of the same people who are calling foul etc would actually be pleased Marin got red carded etc. But then sports fans are naturally biased etc. It's what makes sport more interesting to follow.
LIN Dan's 6 ALL ENGLAND TITLE >>> Rudy Hartono's 8 Lin Dan is the Greatest All England Champion of All Time.
I think you need to work on your maths mate hehe. By the way, you remind me of tennis fans on that menstennisforum thing. Haven't visited that for ages now. Is it still as fun as before?
You can do 'hehe' all you want but the sheer brilliance of this genius even at the old age of 33 has made me think that he is indeed the greatest All England Champion of All time with Rudy hartono a close second.
That logic I can accept. It's very arguable, but it's like how I feel Djokovic is a much greater tennis champion and player than Federer, even though he "only" has 11 slams to Federer's 17.
Yeah But 11 and 17 are not close. Djoker hasn't won a French Open yet. If he wins 15 GS including a FO then yes,he could be greater.
Another example is how I feel Ronnie O'Sullivan is a greater champion and player than Stephen Hendry, even though he "only" has 5 World Champs to Hendry's 7. I guess my maths needs work too!
No way, everyone knows Federer fluked his only French Open, beating Soder who? in the final. He didn't even need to play Nadal, the only decent clay court player at the time. Point is, when you go off raw maths, you can argue anything.
No problem, If Ronnie's Genius has convinced you that he is the greatest,he may as well be the Greatest.
None of the three you mentioned have won a major. Hartono played in an era where the All England was effectively the World Champs and he won it eight times (7 times consecutively, which is ridiculous), defeating multiple players who also won "majors".
LMAO,Lin Dan has trounced 'major' winners in the All England as well be it Taufik Hidayat,Chen Jin etc. And Yeah Rudy Hartono defeating multiple Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles specialists was nothing better than Lin Dan's competition.
I think you should be careful of making comments about eras that you don't understand hehe. Anyway, like you said above, anything is true in one's mind I guess. Fun times. By the way, I didn't even realise the Swiss Open was rolling along this week. Time to switch to that thread?
ssj100 : Ask Nine Tailed Fox how old is he, then you'll understand about his math
Most of Hartono's wins was in the period when China wasn't allowed to participate in most of the world's sporting events. Hartono had no chance to even played against the Chinese best players Tang Xianhu and Hou Jiachang, so hard to say Hartono was better than Lin Dan.
Tang Xianhu and Hou Jiachang are great players. However both lost to Indonesian MS #2 Iie Sumirat. But they have never played Indonesia #1, Hartono, and nothing we can do about it. Anyway Tang and Hou are few years seniors compared to Rudy. Every era has its own star. Lin Dan is the star of our era. It's incredible he is capable of winning his sixth All England when he is 33.
One post triggering others! A small ripple in the sea created another stormy cyclone result the thread is still extremely active
