which tells me one can't draw much conclusion out of internal training/simulation match unless u can gurantee me that lcw played at his 100% best.

fyi, gong zhichao had beaten olympic gold medalist Ji Xinpeng in training match too:rolleyes:

What if LCW beat Roslin 21-5, 21-6 and got thrash easily by ALL of his opponents when the TC final begins?
Spain usually did well in their pre-qualifying or couple of friendly matches ahead for Euro/World Cup, but what did they achieve when it comes to the Final Round?

Yesterdays matches was not that intense. Its just a mock game to let the new guys get a feel of Thomas Uber Cup experience. Their "opponent team" are instructed to give them a mockery and probably some "FAN" antics to let them prepare whats going to happen in INA. I'm sure INA's situation will be more worse.

Winning is not the point for yesterday's matches. The main players do not need to go all out in the games yesterday.

If you cannot beat an over the hill shuttler just a few days before TC, then things certainly dont look good.

Nothing is guaranteed BUT if you are unable, in LCW's case overcome a shuttler that is already past his sell by date, the indication or sign is there that LCW may have problems in Jakarta.

Dont be confused. As our #1, LCW is expected to beat that over the hill, Roslin who didnt even make it as a reserve in our TC squad.

Errr ... did Spain got beaten either by their junior or veteran team in a simulation match before the Euro/WC? And fyi, Spain won the European Championship once ;)

Dude, if we continue to dish out excuses we are never gonna progress in badminton. All this molly cuddling gotta stop let's not kid ourselves anymore. Yesterday was a disaster, period.

The issue here is that our shuttlers took yesterday's session lightly. If our shuttlers take a tidak apa attitude in training, when it comes to the tournament proper, they are gonna be found out big time.

Mark my word, we are gonna get a beating in Jakarta.

I do agree with you that there are players who treat the session with the Tak Apa attitude. And the session i would say it was not well organized and not a disaster. But i don't think you were there yesterday. There are things that the press didn't mention.

this goes back to my first post, lcw wasnt prepared for roslin style.
Roslin may no longer be a spring chicken but playing one hard match isn't that crippling for him. It wasn't long ago that roslin beaten LHI and BCL in dec 2007 Hong kong open before pooping out in the quarterfinal against Kenneth J.

Dude, I dont need to be there. As members of our TC team, our shuttlers are expected to give their best whether it is a training match or whatsoever. They are representing the nation and this is no laughing or social matter.

LCW as our #1 are expected to beat some shuttler who didnt even make the squad, period.

Money have been spent to send our team to PD for some team building camp. What did this achieved? Judging from yesterday's event, it is looking more like money being wasted on a bunch of tidak apa shuttlers.

I am sorry if LCW wasnt prepared how in the hell is he gonna play 1st singles??!!!:eek: Shall we exercised our Malaysian subsidy mentality and maybe get LD and co to fax to LCW in advance and tell the lad what kind of 'style' they will be playing when they come up against LCW?

I am sorry, yesterday's event was a disaster.

    Thank goodness..

...there weren't actually people paying and watching the matches. I would imagine if Pemuda was in attendance and actually paid for the tickets, and saw the same results, he'd go back to the ticket booth and demand a full refund...."I WANT MY MONEY BAAAACK!!";)

If LCW cant even beat Roslin, how is he gonna beat the likes of LD, TH in Jakarta who are all better than Roslin?

Not only LD knows how to play LCW, LD is a better shuttler than LCW by a mile.
