OK, surely this pair have to be considered as virtually unbeatable now.
Can anyone tell me how many tournaments they have now entered?
Because they have won ALL of them bar ONE!! I doubt any pairing in the history of the game can rival this kind of start... it must be some record...

Will Zheng Bo and Gao Ling's ranking move to No. 1 after winning the 2007 China Masters ?

yes, you are absolutely right! i've just checked that they are currently world no. 1 and leading the the second (widianto and natsir) by over 3000 pts.
as what everyone says, it's only a matter of time before they become world ranking no. 1.
meanwhile they are still number 1 in the super series standing, leading the second, widianto and natsir, again, by over 15000 pts.
they had only lost one match of all the games that they played, incredible!
hope they will continue to dominate the XD!!!:D:D
go WONDER LING and HUMBLE BO!!:):):)

Gao Ling and Zheng Bo are simply amazing, and their mental toughness impresses me so much.

Just watched the Surdiman cup XD match between China and Indonesia, and the bad call against Gao/Zheng didn't even have any effect on them. At the point of the bad call, the score was 5:1 for Indo, then by the time they reach the interval, it was 7:11 for China.

Fans always use one or two bad calls as an excuse for their idol's loss(es), but just look at Gao/Zheng, they turned that frustration of a bad call into positive energy and eventually won the match.

This pair simply is amazing!!! They are so consistent, and they will continue to perform very well, and win more championships.

Actually to be more accurate, they have won over 40 games, and only lost 1.

    They played at
Asian games 06 winner (5 games)
Malaysia open 07 winner(started from qualifying rounds, I believe)
Korea open 07 winner(I believe also from qualifying rounds)
    German open 07 winner(at least 6 games)
All England 07 winner(5 games from main draw)
    Singapore open 07 (won 2 lost 1)
Indonesia open 07 winner (5 games from main draw)
Surdiman cup 07 (won all 5 games)
China masters 07 winner (5 games from main draw)
WC 07 so far won 3 games

Even, if we count the MO 07 and KO 07 as only 5 games(excluding qualifying rounds), they already have won 44, and lost 1...

    That's impressive!

and the only pair who can beat them (till now, before SF WC 2007) is Nova/Lilyana at Singapore Open 2007 (21-9, 21-15)

thanks for the stats! this is what I was waiting for!! Truly an amazing stat... 44-1...
tbh I think for ZB/GL, flandy/marissa are tougher than Nova/Natsir but now GL must be feeling tired for the final.
50/50 IMO - the final is too close to call and can go either way.. like the SF!! heart attack!!
