Yes, it would be much better to see how one half of Fuzzy manage to perform on the international stage. These two should not be in the TC squad.

actually, i agree with ur opinion of fielding youth md in tc squad... i do prefer mak hee chun & tan wee kiong or ong soon hock & tan bin shen but it will be a big gamble... what i mean a big gamble is both of md are yet to show their consistency in international event eventhough their have the potential. dunno whether they can cope with the big pressure in such a huge tournament... :) but exposing the youth with that pressure will help them to be more develop for future tournament... :p

Zakry and Fairuz set to get the nod

KUALA LUMPUR: Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif-Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari are set to play the second doubles for Malaysia in the Thomas Cup Finals after getting back into the good books of coach Rexy Mainaky.
After assessing the players in training, Rexy said that he would prefer to go for experience in forming the team for next month’s Finals.
Rexy had his reservations over the Zakry-Fairuzizuan pairing after the duo dished out a string of uninspiring performances since reaching the semi-finals of the World Championships in India last August.
He contemplated choosing either Fairuzizuan or Zakry to form a partnership with a younger player but he has had a change of heart.
“Zakry-Fairuzizuan have experience on their side. They lived up to our expectations in the last Thomas Cup Finals (in Jakarta in 2008),” said Rexy.
“We will continue to monitor their performances in training. For now, we are more concerned in selecting our best third pair for the Finals.”
Meanwhile, Rexy appreciated the presence of independent pairs Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah and Gan Teik Chai-Tan Bin Shen to provide quality sparring for those in the training squad.

So, it seems that in order to get Mak/Tan or Hoon/Ong to play second doubles, they need to shock the world by winning the BAC? :( I can't believe he is letting the yoyos play after all...

They are going to sacrifice the nation's future by not letting the youngsters gain experience for some quota issue?

Quota maybe is not the suitable word to use. Balance is the word.

We have to admit that our 2nd MD's is 1 big free point to other teamS that have the ability to win the TC, no matter which pair is choosen from the current BAM's badminton squad.

Yup, which is why we should give youngsters experience instead of fielding Fuzzy again

    happens before ...

Well the fuzzy was denied a place in the olympic 08, when they are in their top form, ... so now I guess its their turn. But then again playing in beijing olympic 08 is no comparison at all to thomas cup 2010 in KL :D :D

the so called top-form coz they won the crucial TC 2nd MD against CHN...
then they go on to win SO and IO without the top MDs around
i dont think they are top form, just right place and right time...and some form lar....but not top form...:cool:

Coaches dont have final say in selection, BAM committee does, that's why I not surprised.
For some time already say, Fuzzy will get more chances than even KKK/TBH, just observe what the decision makers had said in the press, currently & in the past. ;)
