Opps sorry I forgot to mention that the Japanese players performed very well too today. Way to go man. I realised that Japanese players performance are vey consistent when it comes to tournaments cause they have a good coach Park Joo Bong.

Yup, she conceded retirement after 18 mins playing, 16-15 against TPE lesser-known player Sung SY. Just wondering whether she's fully recovered or not...:(

Comment on the players performance. First of all sad to say that Korea performance in this tournament is way below par. All the doubles players really performed below par this time and have lost. So only one WD will advance to play in the quarter finals tomorrow leaving no representatives for MD and XD. As for the MS only Heo Kwang Hee survived. The rest have lost even in the round 1 and 2 and never even reached the 3rd round. However good performance from the WS saves the day as 3 WS will be playing in quarter finals. As this is a second tier tournament I am hoping for a better result from the Korean side but the result thus far have proven that they are performing below par.

However also noted that there are players who performed very well in this tournament. First and foremost Chan Tsz Kit / Law Cheuk Him really played very well and imagine this is their first tournament together and they managed to win over Chan Jun Bong / Kim Dae Eun 21-19 21-13. Throughout the whole match it was so disappointing to see that the Hong Kong MD are in total control of the game and bulldoze all the way to win the match.

Next Tan Chee Tean / Shevon Jemie Lai who is much younger compared to Chan Bong Jun / Kim Hye Rin also won the match today. The best part of the match is the Malaysian XD although they are still young are in total control of the match and attack all the way to win. The Malaysian XD is very good too. The Korean XD player on the other hand played badly and make so many silly mistakes.

I am also very impressed with Tan Wee Gieen / Teo Ei Yi a young MD player who have played sobwell to reach the quarter finals. Not forgetting that both of them won over a more fancied Indonesian MD yesterday. Both played so well and managed to win the match today convincingly.

But then throughout this whole tournament I am extremely impressed with Tan Kian Meng / Peck Yen Wei performance. This is their third tournament together. Not to mention the silver medal they won 2 weeks ago. Wow I am so impressed. Actually Tan Kian Meng is a MS player but now he is no longer playing in MS. He will now play in XD and he is given a new partner Peck Yen Wei. Both are very young but only their third tournament together and they already reached the quarter finals. Now to mention how they trashed their opponents all the way to reach the quarter finals. Amazing. This si certainly a young and uprising star. The secret of the success is Tan Kian Meng is such a versatile player and he can play so well in XD too. I believe this XD pairing can taste more success. Way to go. The first time they play together both ahd to withdraw halfway of the tournament due to Peck Yen Wei serious lung infection. Then the second tournament they won the silver medal. Wow what a great achievement.
