I do agree with you in regards to WCH's performance against TH should not be measured as a medal quality play. TH has been well despite his recovery. I would say TH game was 60%-70% from his full potential.
But all praise to WCH as he has manage to break his mental barrier and at least give himself some confidence in advancing to the next round. I so as well hope that WCH will land himself at least a bronze medal. He and everyone else deserve more as they have been training very hard for this event.

I am hoping for more good news from Choon Hann as he performed very well yesterday. He outpaced Taufik and was on the offensive side. However, I think most of the qualifiers to the Olympics steps up and trains very hard and it's difficult to say that who deserves more based on their hardwork in training. At the end of the day, there will only be three receiving medals on the podium.

Nothing to be proud of WCH's win over TH. Still remember when WCH is beaten by BCL in TC08? That is what's the capability of WCH when facing good form player.

I wonder mas supporter start dreaming on the DREAM FINAL - WONG CHOON HANN VS. LEE CHONG WEI.:D:D

    WAKE UP LAH...

I am afraid many here will go for your throat for being so harsh. However in my opinion, you are right. All the shuttlers want to do well and win in Beijing. No such thing as so and so deserve a medal just because he has been training very hard ... and is my friend too.

I believe Dato Asbullah is saying all the participating shuttlers also train just as hard. And medals are given to the top 3.

    Well said.
It seems this is the first time MAS have done video homework from what they say, so they have added an extra dimension to their preparations.(CHN does it all the time. Their players have always taped matches at every tournament. Never seen any MAS homework of this sort being done. What's wrong with getting their players who lose early do it? Extra work should come with disrupted progress of an opportunity.)
In WCH 's case, belief is crucial for his win.Think of all the advantages he has over his opponent. And his coach would do well not to rake up his have-nots. What's the point of comparing WCH's skills with LD and LCW? Does it help WCH's self-belief? If not, then just keep quiet.
How come coaches don't learn from match upsets? How do favourites lose to underdogs? It's all about confidence DURING the match. You can observe confidence swings between the two players during the match. The one who plays with more confidence towards the end, wins.
It's too early, however, to talk about a medal. One match at a time, please.
And MAS players, stop the silly 'Play for my country' talk.Stop being big-headed.Your opponent is not playing against your country. You are not playing against your opponent's country.Your opponent is playing against you.So you are playing against your opponent.
    Stay unrelentingly focused.

Lets put aside all the Malaysia Boleh hulabaloo.

    Lets be frank.

Did WCH put in a honest effort?? In my opinion, yes he did. And I would say throughout his career, WCH always gave his all. No big time Charlie attitude etc. Just an honest pro putting in a honest effort.

Is WCH good enough a shuttler to be amongst the medals?? NO. The lad was just not good enough, period. Throughout his career, I rate WCH as a above average shuttler. Never good enough to be amongst the best. He was just above average. I rate him slightly below Foo Kok Keong.

Sorry Malaysia Boleh fans, I guess the party and feel good factor after yesterday's win over a 50% TH had come to an end. But look at the positive side of things, at least WCH went out fighting.
