mi only use mp100, at800de and e1000...for now feel mp100 is the hardest smasher of the lot...now it is broken so considering getting another 1...heard gd stuff about woven but their rackets are really expensive in sg rite? for woven, issit the number bigger is better? like 11 smash better than 9?

Cab22... IMO the most satisfying racket for smashing and it makes a great sound too. I just love it... :)

hey guys need an answer. does stiffness or heavy heaviness contribute more to how hard u smash, not considering wrist power? if given a choice of mp100, ti10, at700, or any other rackets in this price range, which would u choose as a power racket? need to get another racket fast

if there was a DinkAlot brand, i'd vouch for it :D

so far, only played with blacken, cab9 and at700. i think i produce similar power with at700 and cab9. must play longer with my at700 :D

    AT-700
    Ti-10
    MP-100

Lately I bought a AT-700 and was so pleased with the power it generates that I had actually neglected my Ti-10s for the past few weeks...

Get the AT-700, you will like it.

    Thanks.

Well... before I purchased the AT-700, I try swinging the AT800OFF and still felt that the AT-700 is closer to the Ti-10 that I was using.

And as for SOTX, may be you want to take a look at http://www.bbesports.com/racket_sotx.htm. But... frankly speaking, I don't really fancy the SOTX rackets. My doubt is that if they are really that good and error free, the product should be capable of marketing itself. But... I believe the SOTX suits certain players' play style, thus there are still some followers around.

Currently, I think YONEX NS9000X/S, YONEX AT-700, YONEX Ti-10... are generally quite acceptable in terms of quality consistencies. When my racket were to break, I would want an exact replacement. I am quite certain that if I were to purchase another YONEX AT-700, the quality will not differ much.

I will be sticking to NS9000X and AT-700 for a while.

    Thanks

    Hi HKChua,

Which AT700 are you currently using? Is it 3U or 4U? Which one do you prefer?

    Thanks in advance.

4U, because besides smashing, I have to recover smashes from opponents. :D

    Thanks.

hi, when u say this, do u mean that the head heaviness/stiffness is closer to ur ti10? as in u feel that at700 is a more 'powerful' racket? dang i went for a 4u at800de some time ago, certainty an allround racket but cant seem to kill opponent with my smashes:(

Well... it is only 'my feel' when I was swinging the AT-700 and the AT-800DE. I think due to personal preferences, one may result preferences for certain type of feel. I have been using PROACE Thunderbolt II, but... having problems with frame vibrations. Thus.... it took me some time and I switched to Ti-10. And... yes! Ti-10 is really a good weapon for smashing, especially for smashing. You leaped and smashed, the feeling of the birdie when you smashed was just 'RIGHT'. I have been using the Ti-10 strung at 29Cross x 27Main.

But... trust me, after you tried the AT-700, you will be willing to give up Ti-10 though you love it so much. :D I am still keeping my Ti-10 though.

    Thanks.

Yes, I am referring to the AT-800DE. Have not try the AT-800OF yet, but.... AT-700 is currently more than adequate.

    Thanks.

The most powerful smashing racket is going to change from person to person because each person has different technique, racket speed, arm, shoulder, body strength, timing, string preference, etc...

With that said, the most powerful smashing racket is going to be the heaviest, stiffest racket you can flex optimally, on a consistent basis, all other things being equal. Actually, that's only half correct. Based on NASA research on batted softball speeds (I'm confident this will apply to Badminton as it applies to other sports as well), the most powerful smashing racket is going to be the racket where you can yield the fastest racket speed immediately after shuttle impact.

Again, for every person it's different. Also if you can optimally flex a racket now, doesn't mean you can optimally flex it when you are tired or sore. So there are a lot of factors.

OK, for me, assuming, everything else as equal as possible and subject to change:

    1) Woven 11 and SOTX Diamond Fighter N-900

    Very close:
    3) Woven 7
    4) DHS Top VS3000
    5) 2U Ti10 and True Speed TS-100
    7) 3U MP100

Honorable mentions: Woven 9, 4U AT700, NS9000-X, 4U AT800-OF and DE, Yonex Blacken, SOTX Winner Kinsmen, Wilson NCode N1.

Have not hit a 3U AT700 which I heard is right up there with the best.

There maybe some others I failed to recall.

simply put, the hardest smashing racket is when your strength reaches the equilibrium point against the stiffness of the racket

GIVEN: when you can swing every racket the way that optimizes its value

person A might find a racket to be the most powerful racket, but person B might find another racket that gives him/her the most powerful stroke

my weak arm say woven9 is better than ti10 3u
might try at700 later, or a better woven, or ns9kS

    i don't think sotx does U's..every racket has it's own specific weight/balance/lenght and rigidity...so you'll ahve to do some math yourself:p ..

u mean sotx has one type of specs for each type of racket? unlike brands like yonex which have 2u,3u,4u?

    in short, yes.

liek this: the woven 7 is:

    weight:91±2g
    Balance point:290-300mm
    Strung:≤31lbs B-Pt:675±1mm
    Shaft stiffness:8.5-9.0
Head: 100% Ultra HM Graphite, WOVEN
    Shaft: Ultra HM Graphite

    wereas the woven 9 is:
    Weight:84±2g
    Balance point:288-298mm
    Strung:≤31 lbs B-Pt:675±1mm
    Shaft stiffness:8.5-9.0
    Head: 100% HM Graphite, WOVEN
    Shaft: Ultra HM Graphite

here the only difference is ~2mm in balabnce point (peanuts) but the 9 is ~3u while the 7 is ~2u

    do some searching on http://www.sotxsports.de/products/racquets.htm
