hi guys, I uploaded AK's Toshi Knot on youtube if AK doesnt mind
Very inspiring for struggling beginners like me. Any news on what type of awl he used for the shared holes and for the blocked holes (e.g.the A8/10-type holes)? Ta, smautf
String mover for shared holes and standard awl (probably Yonex in this case, but any badminton awl works) for blocked holes. It works really well.
I use Yonex awl, I am use to it so never really got into the string mover, one more tool to have in my tray, I think I am fine. I see sometimes how people use it and whiz through shared holes, while sometimes I have a little trouble with the shared holes at the top. The Germans at the Olympics breeze through rackets while sometimes I struggle a bit. The English guys too fly!! I am the slowest
I have a question which has probably been answered before, can anyone tell me why he started two of the crosses before finishing the last of the mains?
Instead of using the Yonex string pattern I modify it. Technically you can put 2 pieces of string in 1 hole. The Yonex pattern ties mains at 8B and start cross on 6B for the less shared hole string pattern, Voltric 80, Nanoray 900, Arcsaber 11. I tie my main on 9 instead of 8 to lessen tension loss, the string from 10B to 8B is cut in half tying on 9B. I weave my cross first becase if I tie on 9 sometimes the knot may block the hole so I preweave my first 2 crosses to prevent the blockage, letting me put 3 pieces of string in 1 hole, main cross and knot. Make sense? Thanks!!!!
@kwun Looking back at what I had accomplished and my fall from grace, words like this make me appreciate people like this. Without you where would people get their voices heard? Thanks again for all your work!
