David, sotx rackets I had in my hands:
    -woven 5, 6, 6i, 7, 7i, 8, 9, 10, 10i, 11, 11i, 13
    -D500, 600, 700, 900
    -CP5k, 6k, 7k
    -jedi-077

    extenisve testing ;)
    -w7 (played for 3 months), 11 (6 months), d600 (3 months) D500 (3 months), cp5000 (3months), cp600, 3 months and counting)
    I also demo'ed the d700, w10i, 7i, d900 and ck7k pretty long, just for fun ;)

I like testing, fun to do.. consequences are I switch a lot... Actually, I've never ahd a new batch of rackets in without switching

    I guess it's the aero-shape...

all CP rackets are formed aerodynamically (like the at900T and at800Def). You really notice it's faster than usual..
To me, the cp6k is slightly flexy (got used to it now) but just as heavy/long/headheavy like the d600/w11 I liked. But much faster...

The 7k is also great, but just slightly too flexy for me. Feeling it whip with smashes is nice, but with driveshots and defense it's just plain weird :p

The 5k is just as good as the 6k, but just too light for my taste. (took a while to figure out though :p)

    Just have to posts this...
I had a real clown-around-night last night, so I thought, why not bring out some testers?
I had with me my trusty cp6k, a w10i, w9A and w7. All were strung with ML, except the 9A, which has a dazzling red 65ti in it :p

It was weird, all rackets are said to be 8,5-9,0 stiff (stiff) only the w10i is extra stiff... Now all rackets are Iso, except the cp6k, which is a weird sorta iso/oval hybrid ;)

Comparing these, the w9A flexed waay more than the cp6k, It was so bad I actually felt the racket head trail behind in my smash... (must be pschycological, but all my smashes went flat to the backline...)
Further I kinda like it, more so than I did a year or so back (weird huh?)

But my cp6k was still king. Flexed less, more aerodynmic, better power, better feel, overal superior..

The w7, I haven't touched one in two years, so it was fun... I figured it was 92 grams, and 675mm, can't be much heavier than my cp6k?
how wrong I was... God what a beast, power is amazing, but pretty slow in defense.. (also quite a contrast with then... but my playing level has, well, rocketed since then...)

So, I did kinda like it, but I can't imagine I'll ever play a doubles match with it..

Then the w10i, solid, slightly heavier than my cp6k, slightly slower on the defense... Felt pretty good...
    I'd sya it's on-par with the cp6k, just a slight difference..

But what struck me the most, was what felt heavy and what felt light...If I had to scale it, form light too heavy It'd be:
    w9A-cp6k-w10i-w7.
The difference between the w9 and cp6k was pretty close actually, cp6k w10i as well.. the w7 really trumps all..

    Yes, the W7 trumps all except a 93.5g W11. :p

    well, yeah...you're right..
    even a 90g w11 would give a w7 a run for its money...
But I didn't take one with me that night..

I'm not even going to bother stringing one up for testing...the w7 was already to much for me ;)
Weird how that stuff goes.. w7,w11,d600,d500,cp5k,cp6k...heavier, heavier, lighter, lighter, lighter, heavier...
    beats me...

Woven 16 I would put against the w7, at least the w7 I have. Woven 16 is the most stable racket I have tried so far without a doubt. Guys at the club tried both and the 16 was easier to hit, power was on par but control was better. Steve at ibuysports review I think was correct on it. It definitely is too much money I just lucked out on a minty used one. Defence is much better than the w7 or w11 but slower than the w9 or the good ole w8. Definitely a sleeper all around rackets for someone who can afford it. If it was as fast on defense as the w8 it would be perfect. Would like to try a cp 5 or 6 down the road which ever is better on defense. Moving towards heavy 4u's or light 3u's as my old arm can't take too much anymore.

I have a w2 and have used a w8. The w8 was quicker for smash returns but I like the w2 because it's substantial enough to block wonderfully and smashes well. I wondered if the w9 would be a middlepoint...light, so it should be quick, but head heavy for deflection and power.

i agree that Woven 16 is one heck of a racket. in fact it ranks as one of the top 3 rackets i have ever tried. but the price is :(. luckily, i got mine as a gift.

    this is just too good.....

I broke a string on a mishit, yet again, with my ovalish cp6k....
    so pulled out a w7...

and I liked it, I like it a lot
2 years, and I'm probably back full circle...

I don't think I have played with the same racket more than 3 sessions since September. Have 5 right now woven 7,9a,16 yonex 900t 4u and rsl x2-ap [7490] on route. Least favorite is the w7 since defense is the slowest. My doubles partner loves it thou and uses it every chance he gets. Fun trying new rackets but think its time to pick one and stick with it for a while. Trouble is they are all nice to play with so tough decision.

    Hey all !

I read all this topic and I still can't find which racket from SOTX will suit me the best.

I am an offensiv player, so I want my racket to generate much power, with still some manoeuvrability because I also play in doubles ( but I prefer singles). I can go up to 110 euros ( about 160 usd I think ). the woven serie seems to have good attacking racket, the d600 looks nice too.

    Can anyone help me ?

    Thanks

sotx rackets that are aimed at the attacking players:

-woven 7: stiff, 92 grams, headheavy
-woven 7i, extra stiff, 90grams, headheavy
-woven 10i, extra stiff, 89grams, even balanced (680mm long!)
    -woven 11, extra stiff, 92grams, headheavy (680mm!)
    -d600, extra stiff(ish), 89grams, headheavy (680mm)
    -circle power 6000, mid-stiff, 90grams, headheavy, (680mm, aeroshaped frame)

I'm personally very fond of the woven 7 and cp6000... the w10i is also nice... For doubles, the w11 and d600 are a bit too slow.

Thx for your help. So the d600 and w11 are out. I think i'll prefer et headheavy racket, so the w10i out too. The cp6000 cost twice as much as the w7 and w7i, and money is an issue :s. I saw in this thread that you prefer the w7 over the cp6000 ? What about the w7i ? Did you try it? How does it feel ? Really different from the w7 ? Did you like it ?

    Thanks
