RIO Olympics is almost over. badminton is done. the only events left that are interesting to me is the ongoing football final (host Brazil is leading 1-0!), Women's volleyball tonight, and marathon tomorrow morning.
host Brazil wins 5-4 in penalty kick. what a finish for the host, esp for a nation whose national sport is football.
The Serbian women are big,tall and strong. Mihalovic,Boskovic and Ogn(their names are difficult to remember) are impressive and most of them can serve like men, the jump smash serve which sometimes they hit so hard it goes long. Serbia actually beat CHN in the pool stage 3-0. Can CHN avenge that defeat in the Golds Medal Match ? Score now 1-1, the third set CHN's lead was reduced to 23-21 atm. But CHN have an ace spiker and one ace blocker and one very tall 6' 7" player that are outstanding. G3 just concluded in CHN's favour 25-22 to go 2-1 up.
Spiker Zhu Ting and Blocker Yuan X L , of course both can spike and block but that's their individual forte, are instrumental to CHN's strength.
Heard the commentator says the CHN team, most of the members, is very young and the Serbians are novice Olympians.
