China has no control over the badminton world, none, she doesn't even have a say in BWF. In fact, according to the ex-chief of China badminton and table tennis centre, almost every one of CBA's suggestions and proposals to BWF were rejected. What about the OG qualification rules that hit CHN players the hardest? Anyway, let's not digress too much, esp when it leads to fruitless discussions or, worse still, unnecessary squabbles.
I think SO and generally badminton will suffer from this bad image. In 5 years China WO 2 times. Don't be surprised if next year SO will lose a lot of drop-in spectators.
Meaning they are nothing in the world of badminton. And there's a legitimate reason for the WO, as stated by the officials. If you are not convinced then go complain to the officials, simple as that.
And something any professional association should have fired a head coach for NOT doing. Seriously This debate is going on since Sunday and I am still very confused. Even if she wasn't injured (which I never thought she was and which is beside the point here BTW), IS giving WOs to teammates contravenous to any law in the current BWF rule book? If it is CONDEMN them ad nauseum. If it isn't work on your game, cos if you keep babbling for a non-issue the guy ranked lower will beat you in the next tournament.
pcll99, your distractions seem to be working somewhat, it deflected some of the hot air. Even I couldn't help but be amused.
With all the allegations and angry posts coming from Non China fans, one would think that there is no official reason confirmed by the officials that knows more of the matter more than the so called real badminton fans.
Don't know about the top rank, but I agree. She easily puts the Bipashas, Mahimas, Sunnys, Ailas, Tanishas, Sonakshis in the shade for me and competes well against the Priyankas
