and I think you are both right: a head-heavy racket seems to give more power to the smash. but I suspect it is because the head-heavy racket has a stiffer head with more material in it, and experiences less deformation during smashes so better energy transfer results. the weight of the head should make a difference in some other shots, but not much in the smash. I think.
can anyone give me a brief explanation how the 8K can be head heavier than the 7K when the former has a slim head? not being sarcastic here, just seeking an explanation how this is achieved.
When comparing 7000 to 8000, notice: 1. 7000 is having "hollow head", which means the inner frame has more hollowness. 2. 8000 could pack more inner stuff at the head, and that could make 8000 more head heavy than 7000. Different frame design (inner) could make difference easily.
Power? Has anyone got both the 7000 and 8000 and can tell me which produces more power. Just after an opinion. thanks
I've been using NS7000 (2U G4) about three months and it became my first choice racket after my MP99 since then. Last three days I just bought a NS8000 (3U G3) and had a go last night for two hours. So, what can I say hear that NS8000 feels very solid when it hit the shuttle compared to 7000. For me, what Yonex claims "solid feel core" on NS8000 is true. Btw, I still couldn't give exact comparison between them and need more time to do so. Both of them were strung at 26lbs and so far NS7000 still my first choice.
please give us your review or comparison of the 2 soon, it is quite interesting to find out the difference. thanks
thx for the effort ditorajo! appreciated~ it took me about 10 mins in front of the screen to slight discover the difference in shape between the 2 rackets one thing I did observed was that the string on the NS7K has got a red YY logo, did yours come with string when you got it?? cause mine was hollow initially and I had to pay extra for the strings..
If you notice from my previous post, NS7k has been strung at 26lbs, means that no Yonex rackets come with that tension as standard when you purchase them. Of course, I got it restrung and asked the stringer to stencil the logo on it . I asked the seller cum the stringer of my NS8k to restring the racket since the standard string tension (~22lbs) don't suite me and he restrung it with BG80 for free. Try to look at his shop website here if anyone of you interested http://www.rapidrepair.biz/shop/index.htm
i've just tried the Nanospeed 8000 last night in a badminton match it is bloody fantastic love it lol. so much more easier to manuver then my MP 100 and it is more powerful too.
bloody?? u lucky guys, i haven't touch a NS8000 yet. I can't hardly wait to 'bend' these new NS racquets
