Nahhhh, I disagree. I'm not saying that he can still go back to his 04-05 days but he can certaintly speed up.

Lack of speed can be countered by better tactical play. So Taufik's speed deficiency is not much of an issue.

Next time I see him or LCW, need to ask whether that last rally at Swiss Open was in or out. It was a magical rally, fitting to finish off a high quality match.

That might be true but Taufik certaintly can be much faster than what he exhibit during AE09. I mean, it seems like he is even slower than the aging Peter Gade (from KO 09)

    About Taufik's speed..

..personally, we can judge Taufik's fitness or stamina level by simply looking at how easily he moves around the court and also by his amt of jump or semi-jump smashes. Personally, I don't think Taufik ever has had the same speed like LCW or LD or Sato..:p

Here are 2 videos showing a good example of Taufik's speed/court movement at his peak..Noticed how effortlessly he moved around the court and did his jump and semi-jump smashes (even from the baseline);):

*Btw, abedeng, i saw the last rally of the 3rd game between Taufik's and LCW's Swiss Open QF match and i from what i can see, i'd say the shuttle just went wide. For those interested, here's a good video showing a pretty good angle of that play:

    1. To have a feel of the venue, perhaps.
    2. To have quality training, since no one in MAS team can provide him good
    sparring session...:D
    3. No aiming for the title, as IO is not an important tournament in his list....
    :D..dunt U find it sounded familiar..:D:D...........

What advice to give Taufik to beat LCW ...

    .
It's better to allow Mulyo Handoyo to start the thread. :p:p:p

I didn't even make any comment in that thread "How to beat Lin Dan? Advice to Lee CW". But in the "Lee Chong Wei" thread, I posted what Misbun has commented to the press: click here

    Taufik Hidayat is back !!!

    .
    Taufik Hidayat is back !!!

IMHO, TH is already back. Even though I am a fan of LCW, I am afraid that TH would be able to defeat LCW at the 2009 India Open.

We shall know in 7 days' time.
