Don't worry, it's anybodys game. I trust Boonsak. He is one of the upcoming superstars like Wacha of Poland, Anup of India, Kuncoro of Indonesia and Susilo of Singapore. When he won the Singapore Aviva open this year, I know that it will be a major confidence booster for him. I will cheer for him!!!
Lee Tsuen Seng is planning to withdraw from japan Open.....after US open, he will paly Canadian Challenge then taipeh open...he cited he needed some rest!! Lucky Simon!!
This is really a good draw especially for LCW. He has the change to revenge over Sonny. I am not putting hope for LCW now...
Oh really? Its funny ... How come he rather choose the smaller tournament compare with SS? Shouldn't be he needs more points to qualify for OG? Or he just rather give up the hopes on OG Spot & concentrate to earn more money by winning those kinda tournaments in which he should stand a chance rather than being kick out early by the top players in SS.. I fink Lee its the only MAS MS who have a brilliant WC'07
I asked him same thing.....I said to him...why not going to JO..at least you get money for 1st round?? he said too tired after tournament and tournament...
Agree with U. Why would a top class player like him would choose those tourneys than Japan Open??? Perhaps he is trying to build up confidence towards OG? Yes, LeeTS did very well in WC07, and if I'm not mistaken, he stretched Bao into rubber games. I hope he will play in Japan Open and spring few nice suprises... Malaysia Boleh...!!!
I think LTS may want to collect the points to be safe for next SS series...by winning US open, he got 5000 points and if he wins again at canadian Challenge, he gets another 4000 points...not bad for 9000 points from 2 tourneys with weaker fields..
INA MD [except Candra] are all in the bottom half... INA XD are all in the bottom half... aiyaa.... I hate this no-national-separation rule...
isn't it better... more exciting final... rather than mas vs mas, ina vs ina, chn vs chn.. boring....
Wouldn't worry about it. BP has played all CHN MS except BCL this year and defeated them : CH, CJ, CY and LD.The scary thing for CHN MS is the subsequent times BP met them he took them out faster in straight games,eg CJ and CH.(LCW can save himself time and energy if MAS has the video of BPvsCJ CM07 's first round match and see how BP went from taking one hour to deal with CJ in TO07 the first time to half the time the following week in CM07. BP clearly knows something about CJ's play that's very vulnerable.) In fact BP beat CY in SO07 by working him into mental confusion.Sharp tactics seems to be the key. The only player BP has gotten worse off against is LCW.He has been showing progress, stretching LCW to 3 games that I thought he might have a chance in SC07. However LCW needed only 2 games to take care of BP. BP has improved amazingly, esp. in tactics and fitness and stamina. So has LCW in other areas although he needs a breakthrough in tactics. To me, any draw that puts BP and LCW in different halves is a perfect draw.
What a stupid draw... MS (1st round) LD (1) vs Joachim P BCL (2) vs Boonsak P CH (3) vs TH LCW (4) vs Hafiz CJ (5) vs Q2 PG (6) vs WCH CY (7) vs Sairul Kenneth J (8) vs Q1 Ng Wei vs Q3 Andrew S vs Q4 Lee TS vs Simon S Why can't the organiser reshuffle the draw in such a way that at least top 4 seeds will face the qualifers in the 1st round as follows: LD (1) vs Q1 BCL (2) vs Q2 CH (3) vs Q3 LCW (4) vs Q4 Is it that difficult to come out with a reasonable draw? Please enlighten me.
Agree.. How come the TOP 4 seeds doesnt get the qualifier as their opening rounds opponents. May it be its conspiracy theory by BWF --> to eliminate as much top players before the final --> produce a new champions
Another stupid draw... MD (1st round) Fu/Cai (1) vs Guo/Xie Koo/Tan (2) vs Tan/Ong Kido/Setiawan (3) vs Gunawan/Riyaldi Wijaya/Gunawan (4) vs Bach/Malaythong Eriksen/Hansen (5) vs Q1 Choong/Lee (6) vs Q4 Jung/Lee (7) vs Zakry/Fairuz Lee/Hwang (8) vs Durkin/Nikolaenko Gan/Lin vs Q3 Ohtsuka/Masuda vs Q2 Shouldn't be the top 4 seeds, at least facing the qualifiers in the 1st round?
The only possibly reasonable answer to your question is that BWF wants to provide an opportunity for the qualifiers to at least progress a bit further than first round... if they were to force to face the top seeds after the qualifying rounds, what chance do they have then? Those players will forever remain in the same position as they are now, which is to come out as qualifiers then lose out in the first round MOST of the time. In that case, it discourages everybody who belongs to the qualifying rounds to even think about participating since to them it is pretty much a waste of time. Unless you look at it as an experience gaining opportunity. I am not saying I agree with the rule, but at least if you look from another perspective, it makes some sense.
