I am kind of fed up with my s90's side supports. Do you think these sidesupports are a worthwhile upgrade?
I guess 75€+tax/customs is not cheap but also not too bad.

Or you can order some Chudeks? They're great on my T20

@s_mair Is the new motor better than the good old Wise?

Fair point. Has somebody had both sidesupports? Are there any benefits of one over the other?

Depends what kind of supports you mean. If it’s those PP style stock supports then therse new ones will be a different world.

The price… I know what you mean. Looking at the build quality, they seem to be worth it imo. That’s some high quality CNC machining done to achieve the surface smoothness and that fully edge-less(?) design.

I’m fighting hard with myself if I should order them for my StringMaster or not too.

Currently I have the stock side supports which I would not even mind if you could adjust the angle of them relative to the racket. Unfortunately you cannot.
I sincerely hope that they are not CNC machining the side supports. Unless they like to burn money xD.
Looking at the (overly) complex geometry my guess is that they are cast.
Still, ~75€ would be worth it to me.

Yeah, could also be die casting parts with some additional surface treatment. But however they make it, they are just really well done.

Will these fit the StringMaster? I can see 2 screws instead of the 3 on the StringMaster? The spacing seems different too

I have an early version of the StringMaster that has the top mounted side supports. And they have the 1.8 cm 2-pin desing.

A video says more than a thousand words…

It’s so smooth and precise. And yes, the clicking of the release button is louder than the actual pulling noise.

And I’ve learned that there will be changes to the keypad symbols and the display for the mass production version:

Tensioner sounds real smooth and moves quick. Given the bulkiness of it an adapter would be needed to mount it on a crank rail.
Just thinking aloud. 4300+ rackets so far on a v11 Wise 2086.

Mounting it on a crank machine will be a whole different story. I imagine it to look really odd.

4300 rackets on a WISE is just insane. Longevity of the new motor is a completely blank page of course and the WISE will be a tough benchmark there.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think about the pricing?

I’m torn between „900 EUR for a tensioning head only is a lot!“ and „220 EUR more than a WISE is reasonable“.

I want it too but can't justify the purchase as I am only at around 200 stringjobs with the Wise

It is a lot. And it depends a lot on the real life performance and reliability, which we won't find out until the actual final product comes out.

...and have a number of actual users doing a couple of thousand jobs on it and regularly (ab)use it. Guess it will be a jump into the unknown for a good while.

I wonder whether there are already similar units out there. This cannot be a from the ground up development. Some Chinese OEM probably has it in many other brand and models already.

... and i'm finally going to open up the machine Monday for the first time to clean it.
I agree that it's hard to justify paying that much more. Longevity is an unknown.

I know if my WISE were to suddenly die i have 2 options:
    1. I'd simply buy another WISE (and a v14 glide to activate tensioner).
    2. Consider ordering a more "professional" machine. (odds of this are low - would not be approved by wife)

Please make some pics to document the before & after cleaning status.
