For Thomas Cup, I see that now actually Indonesia is better because top 5 single players are about equal(unlike last 2 TC where the difference between SDK, SS and Taufik are too far with the 4th single). It is higher chance to win 2nd and 3rd singles against any other countries(whoever are playing). 2 doubles are also capable of getting 2 points or at least 1. Uber Cup : even if they qualify, very little chance to enter final again(China and Korea are the favourites this time). With Malaysia and Taiwan should be in top 4 depending on the draw.
yapp...hehhehheee...Japan is very good and i didnt see any of INA WD can win over the JAP top WD...even Mel/Shendy also lost recently.. and for the WS >> Eriko is superbb in 2 last SS. how about INA vs THA ???? >>>> still very very tough indeed but im sure Firda cs can win over THA (from Maria and 2 WD) INA vs MAL ???>>> hope INA can avenge their lost in Seagames, but if INA can go to final round but for the TC team...i have a good feeling that our team will advance to Grand Final...just hope that INA will not meet CHN in semifinal. if we meet either MAS or KOR...im still very confident they can pass. MAS only has KKK/TBH and LCW to -a must- deliver point and KOR only has JJS/LYD to -a must- deliver point hihihiiiii... oiya dont forget that DEN also had 2 strong MS (not mentioned Joachim) and the 2 MD (Boe/Carsten and Lars/Jonas) always give a big trouble for our INA MD oiya tactics are very common in round robin tournament, like what KOR did in last edition TCUC, they concede to became the bottom team of the group to prevent clashed with CHN >>> but then they meet CHN in final.
That KOR case in Thomas Cup 2008 won't happen again since BWF will impose new rules about knock-out drawing after group-stage matches are finished. You can read the details through this thread -- http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78900
Which Final Rd. are you referring to??.. ..M'sia squads (for TC & UC) will be exempted from the Qualifying Rd. (in Thailand) since they're the host country. If you're referring to the actual Final Rd. of competition in M'sia, i would say M'sia's UC chances will really depend on their Singles players. For WD, they only have WPT & CEH. If INA's TC squad is to reach the Grand Final Rd. (in M'sia), most likely facing China, i'd say their chances will really depend on the 2nd & 3rd MS.
well seriously there will be 3 or 4 country get disapointed here so made sure u get ready to accept any sad news
and hope CHN will be one of those 3 or 4 country get dissapointed.... who knows ??? iya kan ? maybe Lin Dan lost to LCW or Sony again, hihihiiii..
ya i know limsy..(sorry i mean not for prelimination round) dont u think it considered as dissapointment when a country can not fulfill it's seeding.. ex MAS TC is seeded one and they cant even reach the Grand Final ?? or INA UC is seeded 4/5 but they cant even pass the prelimination round ?? hehhehe...just like a thread "biggest upset.." oiya Limsy could u please tell us, whos gonna be MAS squad for TCUC this year ?? will Hafis be included ?? hehehehee...we can steal point from him and whos the 3rd MAS MS ??? hope Daren...coz he is handsome..xixiixixi...
nooooo simon will surely be included but Rumbaka lost to Tommy Sugiarto rubber set to define the 4th slot MS.. so Rumbaka will not join TCUC this time.. whereas Rumbaka demolished Tommy 2 sets in National Champ.. yahh maybe Rumbaka wasnt lucky aja.. however..Rumbaka has a higher World rank to Tommy.. its oke lah..maybe Rumbaka can be the 1st MS in the next TCUC Rumbaka, Tommy Sugiarto and Andre K Tedjono are equal actually. but why Andre (runner up of 2010 National Champ) ousted from Pelatnas ??
Imo, rumbaka is way much better than them. Should have included in as the 4th ms.. unfortunately he lost in that selection.. actually mas should also do a selection like this.
yess i have the same opinion too..even imo...Andre K tedjono is much better than Tommy.. Andre ever climb to rank 12 BWF but not Tommy, and Rumbaka is now going uphill to rank 28 (cmiiw) in just a couple of months. even Tommy didnt enter Semifinal in National Champ. maybe Tommy is inspired by his father Icuk to become a hero for winning the Cup ...(i hope ..) BUT its really not fair if Rumbaka lost to Tommy in a thrilling 3 sets of selection but PBSI includes Rumbaka to join the team..yahhh its just a matter of luck..
well for my speculation lee chong wei, hafiz, tan chun seang and chan kwong beng koo/tan,mak/tan,cps/lkw wmc, julia, lydia and tee jing yi chin/wong,woon/vivian,ng hui lin and goh liu ying my comment is,dont be so sure that u can win a point from hafiz anyway, get the best seeding from this qualification round is more important to avoid the likes of china, malaysia, korea and denmark in group stage
A news article about INA Uber team... February 04, 2010 Memories of Past Uber Cup Glories Haunt Indonesian Shuttlers Women’s badminton has long been a source of frustration for Indonesia. Ever since Susi Susanti — a 1992 Olympic gold medalist, five-time world champion and four-time All England winner — retired in 1997 after marrying fellow badminton legend Alan Budikusuma, no Indonesian women’s shuttler has managed to fill her shoes. Mia Audina briefly took Susi’s mantle, winning silver at the 1996 Olympics. However, she switched nationality after marrying Dutch gospel singer Tylio Lobman in March 1999. With the biennial world women’s team championship, the Uber Cup, drawing ever closer, memories of those two continue to haunt the Indonesian national team. Its last Uber Cup titles came in 1994 and 1996, when Susi and Mia were still in the squad. Since then, Indonesia’s best showings have been runner-up finishes in 1998, 2000 and 2008, with China winning every title since 1998. “Playing experience, especially in international tournaments, is the most important thing in improving shuttlers. Sadly, our women shuttlers have been lacking that since the early 2000s,” national team head coach Christian Hadinata said. “We still don’t have outstanding shuttlers in world-class competition, but we’re working hard on that.” Part of the reason for the country’s lagging behind other nations, he said, was a lack of funding from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). China and Malaysia are absent from the Asian qualifying tournament in Thailand on Feb. 21-28. China, the defending champion, and host Malaysia advanced directly to the finals, which take place May 9-16 in Kuala Lumpur. Indonesia faces nine other Asian countries in the race for three Uber Cup berths. The fourth-place team can qualify if its world ranking is better than the fourth-best team from European qualifying. Hong Kong, India, Japan and South Korea pose the toughest tests as they all have players in the world top 20. Indonesia’s best singles shuttler is Adrianti Firdasari at No. 22, while its best doubles pair is ninth-ranked Greysia Polii and Nitya Krishinda Maheswari. “We’ve urged them to give their all if they don’t want to repeat 2006, when Indonesia failed to qualify for the Uber Cup for the first time ever,” women’s singles coach Marleve Mainaky said. Badminton JG, Antara JG link -- http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/badm...cup-glories-haunt-indonesian-shuttlers/356774 *There's a mistake about Susi's World Champion title at above news article that mentioned five-time World Champion... Susi only won WC title once, 1993 in Birmingham.
