    but seriously, there are lots of swimming pool in the tropics, how do they control algae growth in hotter days?? isn't it just turning up the chlorine?

    It was indeed the chemical tanks to control the pools that ran out of... chemicals...

    How the h*** that can happen, on the most important day of the pool's life, beats me. And why on earth it should take them so long to get it back under control is beyond my comprehension. I'm sure there are a couple of pool guys looking for a new job.

    The pools btw are a bit special, they are apparently filled with seawater.
