LCW had already gone thru that after he came back from 2008 OG. Misbun & LCW had to plead to the politicians, big shots, etc, not to invite him to this function & that function.;)

Yeah IMHO, Olympic silver is a bigger deal than the AE title.

On the horizon, LCW should be the man to beat from now on. With this AE under his belt, another pressure has been taken of his shoulders. I could see him sighing a huge relief after his win.

He needs a hard earned rest - so Swiss Open is not his cup of tea. The muscles need to recuperate. There is a bigger game come May as the Thomas Cup looms. Big bucks and glory. He won't miss that.

The AE rewards, I assume, would be huge.

I think LCW has come a long way to be where he is today. The hard work, the frustrations and failed battles.

Imagine being in his shoes a lot of people would have give up.

Yes, the Star mentioned that our Lee Chong Wei will skip the Swiss Open to take a break after winning the 100th edition of the All-England. I saw the other thread and was disappointed by the insults traded over the bad call, notably one of our fans.

I agree 100%. I just hope his performance will not deteriorate after this major victory. But looking at his determination and his consistent performance (if not better) from the Olynpics till now, I think he has improved, while others like KKK/TBH have deteriorated from their heydays.

    Another smart post.

Datuk should be high enough. For sports people, I think this is the highest.

Well it depends, how the goverment would like to thank him. For all you know he can be datuk seri or Tan seri..

I am not implying that he would get it but there can be a possibility.

I think your Nicole David has achieved more than LCW. Perhaps she should be first up to be considered for an upgrade in title.

I doubt so as the Olympic silver is more valuable and even Hafiz did not receive any title after his AE triumph.

Maybe an Olympic gold will justify any title elevation. ;)
