This is absolutely nothing from Sindhu right now. Nothing but keeping it in somehow. Not pleasant.

Well played Akane. Totally deserved to win. Sindhu has done pretty well in this tournament. I don't know why she lifts me more and more and doesn't smash at favourable position.

Akane winning the tournament dropping only one set ! Amazing performance after that heartbreaking Sudirman Cup campaign ! :)

    Great aggressive & pro-active play !

After a somewhat shaky R1 performance, she has looked confident & composed on court throughout the tournament.

I don't think it was letdown at all. The games were very intense with fast playing speed. Not easy to keep up especially when the speed is dictated by opponent.

Yeah, I get that sentiment. This is a classic case of "who dares wins". I've been watching AY matches for years and whenever she dares to go on attack throughout instead of trying to play it safe, good things happen.
Sindhu would benefit from that as well, imo. Use much more angled drop shots and half smashes to score points. Make use of her height and reach much more. Currently she doesn't risk anywhere near enough, if she upped her attacks (or dared to play them much more), she could be the best player in the world, imo.

well deserved Victory for AY I feel happy for you after repeated defeats against PVS you deserved this victory.

To PVS you played well throughout the tournament and it was great seeing you in form hope you will rectify your errors and come back stronger..It was not good to see you not being as agile as you were yesterday against CYF however I think its good in long run for agility is causing injuries now a days so I want you to be safe and healthy for WC and Olympics.

Hope to see you in many more finals in future PVS.

Congrats, Akane, a well-deserved victory and worthy champion. Not only is she a great retriever ,she is also capable of a strong attack sometimes. Keep it up.

Watched just the 2nd game. I could notice lots of points being scored by pushes into PVS’s body and backhand. This thing, in particular is been bothering Sindhu’s game for a while. SN makes a considerable use of this, whenever she plays against her

She doesn't smile right after the win though(as usual). She tends to only smile during prize presentation. Yes, she is adorably cute if you look at her full face and not her side face. :p

I don't "hate" Morten Frost. Hate is a word that is used way too frequently for the fact that it signifies an extremely strong emotion. I can't think of anyone I "hate".
I just don't think that MF is as good a commentator as Steen, as he's often extremely biased and says stuff I find incredulous at times. Like saying at the WC SYQ should play a rallying game against Momota because he will then surely win, or saying Chen Long lost to SYQ taking many chances and commiting easy mistakes, because he felt couldn't keep up with him physically (we're talking about CL here).

Never heard anything this bizarre from Steen.
