She is Ji Hyun Marr formerly a Korean international player once ranked as high as number 2 in the world rankings in womens singles. She has had many achievements one being her battles with former World No.1 Susi Susanti.
Whoever wins this match will be the only unseeded player in the final. Kevin is the only poster boy left in the tournament and in the final. VA didn't even get to play as he withdrew before it even started.
Really peculiar how all the doubles events are same nation battles, really showcasing the state of dominance. Has this ever happened before?
Lol. Tbh I was kinda surprised by your statement. IMO, you are mistaken. Steen is not a mere commentator. He was formerly head coach of the danish national team. Going by your line of reasoning (correct me if i am wrong), only top players comments can be taken seriously? I seriously wonder how these greats reached the pinnacle of badminton. By raw innate talent and just training everyday by themselves with no help? I find it hard to imagine. Maybe you can enlighten my ignorance. I believe he is on the danish national coaching team during PG, CM time. But whether he coached them personally, that i am not sure https://www.badmintonengland.co.uk/news/gb-badminton-secure-great-dane-to-mentor-coaches/ Iirc some of steen's comments are discussed/mentioned by BC forumers too (fellow forumers do correct me if i am wrong) Sent from my MI 6 using Tapatalk
Or we could see it this way, the finalists just happened to be from the same nation. Though XD and WD had been pretty much dominated by CHN and JPN in the past one or two years (except for some upsets). MDs could vary a bit depending on the playing condition.
I wanna add further more about Steen's comments on Sindhu vs chen Yufei's match When Chen Yufei won a point, Steen said " That's why i am saying, if you don't have skills or technical ability on the front court , such as lobs etc, it will be extremely difficult to put chen yufei under pressure." Then Sindhu went on to win the game 1 and won the game 2 and the match easily. There is a pin drop silence from him about his all those praises about a particular player.
He also mentioned during the WTF that this was an outstanding chance for Sindhu to beat TTY and win the tournament and he was correct. Slow conditions are good for Sindhu, as the technical, attacking players like TTY have an even harder time scoring against her outstanding defence. Heavy favourite for tomorrow as well, in my opinion.
I understand slow conditions would favor PVS. But Istora a slower court condition? Or it has become one this year? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
to be honest, I feel the answer is not as clear and as straightforward that you would think since I would argue what China and Korea does to develop their country, are largely based on 'total control' that are often 'bullying' parts of the people but, lets just keep this matter out atm hahahaa
