    I propose we have a banner contest where all entries are posted here and the members have a vote for the new banner.

    Sounds like a great idea... plus, we'll have a few, so we can change it every month or so and keep the look fresh all the time. :)

    Well, right now, I guess we need kwun's approval and rules and whatnot. I think he'll want to keep the "Badmintoncentral" banner on the top left so we should concentrate on the right side of the banner. The size for the right banner is 552x106 pixels.

    I've done my first attempt. Anyways, I tried to get as many variations as I could, Singles, mixed, doubles. Gail Emms is the only female there because I got tired of waiting for pics to load. Don't you love dial up? :p . I also had another banner with Peter Gade in it, but his ready stance made him look like he was gonna hug Lin Dan. Anyways, this design tried to incorporate all the variations of badminton into it. I chose Lin Dan because he is the Worlds #1 in singles, I was gonna replace him with Taufik though, but couldn't find a nicer picture. Nathan and Gail for the mixed, I chose that mainly because I was looking for a birdie in the pic :D . Well of course, they are imo the best mixed pair in the world right now, despite the AE2006 last game performance. And of course, Howard Bach and Tony Gunawan for doubles because they're the World Champs. Tony furthered his career by playing in U.S.A, therefore adding even more accomplishments to his already legendary career. Howard has been part of an unfolding Cinderella story. He's pushed his game to a new level, overcame all expectations and is still continuing to surprise all of us with his remarkable improvement. Anyways, that's it for now, I'll make another one when I go to school.

    i actually quite like the idea. :)

    however, i must set down a couple of rules.

    yes. the size does matter. and i appreciate the effort to keep to the same size as the current one.

    for the general interests, a mixture of players from various countries and both genders will be interesting. i don't want to see, for example, banners consists of just Chinese players (just an example), or all pics of Ms. Shiota.

    it will also be interesting to have topical changes every month, say, if the TC/UC is coming up, we can post pics of the cups, or pics of the prior edition. or maybe part of the current marketing poster.

    also, if possible, obtain the appropriate permission from the copyright owners. Shabok and red00ecstrat has given permission for BC to use their photos before.

    i will be happy to put the pic up.

    also, be aware that the format may change in the future... but the idea will be the same...

    Hehe, i wasn't expecting it, esp. after seeing the same banner for nearly couple yrs. now...:p

    But yes, banner design update is a very good idea...Esp. if some of you "artsy" and "graphically" gifted folkz can contribute a bit of your talent and time. And of course help our Kwun in anyway with this online media..The more contribution, the merrier..-;) :cool:
    I've kinda mentioned this to Kwun last year, esp. after i noticed some of the topics or articles in the Home page hasn't been updated for a while...understandably since he WAS and IS very busy with his other everyday chores and responsibilities..

    Anyways, so, yes, update in any kind is very good....-:) :cool:

    Wow, my banner's up :D . Anyways, I'm in the process of making a much better banner (General Purpose). If anyone has any pics of the UC/TC, I'd be glad to try and piece together a banner for the certain events, I just need the dates and deadlines for the banners.

    found the recent 2004 Thomas & Uber Cups website, but doubt it is of any help..http://www.tuc2004.com/
    but as usual, not a surprise there as who was running the website.. :p :confused:

    looked at the 2002 edition, but couldn't find any website... :p

    oh well, anyone else find it??..

    REFRESH TIME. I was planning on making a new banner, but I wanted to incorporate Fu/Cai, Lin/Bao/Chen and Xie as the center of attention in the banner, but I'm not sure if it would bode well with everyone. My intent is to only portray the World Champions and if I'm allowed to make it, I'll make another design shortly =D
