Damn you. My sentiments are the same as @akatsuki2104 . I'll add this into my tool kit to compare against using scrap string. my tray is cluttered with scrap string. =P
Jewlery pliers from local hobby store. Usually I use a scrap string and lift the main out of the way, then push through l, but i pulled this one as a test
I have to say I really enjoy this little tool. No need for a scrap string anymore (needed a bit of force to place and pull it). It's really convenient to use.
Got the smaller one of this, really like it so far! Handy for tying knots although it did damage the string a little when used to extend the final pull.
I tried the metal one vs plastic one, the hook on the metal one is rounder and sharper, probably easier to get behind the covered main blocking the cross. So might recommend the metal handle rather than save a few Yen on the plastic handle. Sent from my SC-01L using Tapatalk
Looking to purchase a starting clamp, wondering if you guys have any recommendations. I saw a gamma and a babolat starting clamp on a canadian website but theyre both out of stock.
I’d highly recommend this one: https://a.aliexpress.com/_EIbphbZ Compact, lightweight and really well built.
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005002991315863.html another interesting tool. can be a bit fiddly but i use it quite a lot now for shared holes i have to say.
Interesting. But im not sure if i will be comfortable stabbing through the shared hole with sharp end.
https://www.gammasports.com/collections/stringing-machine-accessories/products/starting-clamp is this one good? The one from aliexpress has a long shipping time.
So i used it for shared holes where i previously use a string mover. It's good where the string is very close to the frame and it's hard to get the string mover into the gap.
A small but important update on these. The ultra-small version with one spring only is too weak. I've just tried using it as an extension for the first time (BG80, 10.5 kg) and it was slipping. What a shame. So if anyone decides to get one of them, make sure to order the version with two springs!
