If LYD is really injured but still winning tonight for XD's match..then I do not believe...
Give credit to Guo/Xu who had beaten LYD/JJS before ( first round in Singapore Open)..anyway..bottom line is JJS/LYD is not a dominating pair who does not have OLYMpic and WC title..

He can't and won't retire to do what? Open a kopitiam and sell roti chanai or teh tarik:D:p On another note, if TH is upset to see his chance at this AE slip away, and with time advancing, TH must be kicking himself for skipping 3 AEs when he was at this primetime;)

    ...

..you had a very good promonition on what would happen in the WD Semis..
..i had thought about CJ's role in helping the CHN squad. Win or lose, he would expend Tago so much that he'll be out of gas in the Semis. Unfortunately, it didn't really work out as BCL also had to expend into rubber games..;)
..you have a good memory.;) Yes, the last time any INA WD pairs reach the Semis in the AE was all in the 90s (winners-RUs); the latest was in 1997, might have another after 1997:
    1990 Rosiana Tendean/Erma Sulistianingsih Gillian Clark/Gillian Gowers
    1993 Finarsih/Lili Tampi Yao Fen/Lin Yanfen 5-15, 15-4, 15-7
    1994 Rosiana Tendean/Eliza Nathanael Finarsih/Lili Tampi 7-15, 15-8, 15-4
    1995 Gil Young-ah/Jang Hye-ock Eliza Nathanael/Resiana Zelin 15-6, 15-3
    1996 Finarsih/Lili Tampi Ge Fei/Gu Jun 15-12, 11-15,15-8
    1997 Ge Fei/Gu Jun Eliza Nathanael/Resiana Zelin 15-6, 15-9
..true, Tago hasn't beaten any of CHN's top 3 or 4 MS players. But he's beaten a couple of CHN MS players before (last yr, as a matter of fact, against Lu Yi in S'pore Open SS and Du Pengyu in M'sia Open GP Gold)..

Btw, y'day's win by Tago over Chen Jin was a rematch from last yr's AE where Chen Jin beat Tago in 3 games (in the 1st round).
..Tago is not the first JPN MS player to reach the AE Semis (and he might not be the 2nd one). There was a JPN MS player, H. Akiyama, who was the Runner-Up in 1997 losing to Tan Aik Huang.
..i have a feeling there has been a higher scoring MS match in the NSS era. Please give us some time to research & confirm that.;)
..we were referring to Markis Kido, signing a 3 yr contract with FlyPower; not Taufik Hidayat.;)

chris i think you meant 1977 for the jpn ms, and the last wd winner from INA is 31 yrs ago,

..yes, thanks for rectifying the typo:1997 to 1977. But i thought INA's WD last won the AE WD title in 1996??..
Double checked and yes, no INA WD pairs had ever won the AE WD title in the 90s. But they were Runner-Ups in two of the 10 yrs (1995 & 1997)>the above stats were probably mixed up..

    ..

    - It's happened before, close to 100 pages or even more..we haven't had a thread this long in a while..
    - So, you're suggesting that's the reason or "excuse" why LD lost??..
..Kido and Hendra won't be able to retire soon as suggested by badMania (after this yr, should they win the AE and AG) because they have a 3 yr contract with FlyPower. Not to retire and move to M'sia to open a warung to sell kopitiam, roti chanai, nasi lemak, teh tarek, char kuay teow..;)

    even before bcl/ld match started
i had said in the how to beat lindan thread that i fear bcl more than lindan in this tournament;)
bcl will be the winner and i picked bcl in paw
    why?
because bcl is in his top form of his life;)

i saw your posts already...but what does that have to do with bringing up what Lin Dan supposedly mentioned in the media (that "this ae 2010 is just another ordinary tournament for him")??..

Me thinks Limsy was replying to Mafan(see post 1616, 1591). Mafan said he/she dont think LD said TC more important than AE.
I remember reading an article along those lines but I recall it as LYB saying so or maybe I got confused:confused:

..i know..and i read mafan's post. To me, both reports sounded about the same.
But by mentioning or bringing up what LD told the media (esp. based on suetyan's and limsy's acct, "that AE is just another ordinary tournament"), esp. after his loss, it seems as if that's the reason why LD failed to advance...
