Superb by Korea in this WC. When i grew up seeing those KDM, LDS YYS its hard to believe that they just won 1 WC gold since 2003 prior to yesterday. I would think Korea will be in a tougher situations now compared to the 00s (born 70a 80s), kids and talents are at premium in Korea with sub 0.8 tfr. But then Golden girl ASY comes along and the whole team looks rejuvenated.
Both Kang and Seo can play equally well as back court and front court players, which allows them to play a variety of game plans. Btw, maybe INA MDs need to train in Korea to improve their defense which is very easy to penetrate
Exactly. They both know that the other's defence is too good for their own attack — so whoever plays an attacking game will lose. But they also know that their chances of penetrating the other's defence vary at different stages of the match. - When they're both fresh, there's still some (small) chance they can penetrate the other's defence. Hence, the mostly defensive but with counterattacking game in G1. - When they're tired, their attacks weaken. So they both know that there's no chance they can penetrate the other's defence (without making more mistakes than winners). Hence, grinding game in G2. - Only when one of them is almost out of gas will their defence become penetrable again. Hence, KV started attacking in G3.
It was an all out "no holds barred" MS final match with blood on courts and medical team required more than once. These two were trading "blows"
Next week already ChinaOpen. These days World Champ is like normal S1000 event. Wish its held every 2/3 years.
Watch, somehow the players from China that failed to perform to par this week will probably win everything next week in china lol
Easy everyone can beat everyone these days, there’s no outstanding favourite for anything other than maybe ASY in WS. excitement of baddy has waned a ton over the years following the retirements of big names and ageing stars
@Sumanth99 @Baddie lover Great ears myb friend. Prannoy echoed this in a recent interview. Sharing his words. Prannoy was coming into the match after playing two three-game matches which lasted close to 70 minutes and he admitted it took a toll on his body. “When you are on the court you feel you have done everything but when you finish off, you feel you could have done more. Physically I couldn’t push through today, the legs were not in great shape," the world number 9 said.
it is not only 70 minutes, I think playing fast attacking MS is much harder (especially against such players as LKY, VA who have not only attack but great retrieving abilities as well) than just walking/retrieving and waiting for your opponents mistake, since usually mistakes happen very soon in current MS line up
Agreed! Even more harder when you are down with a gastroesophageal reflux disease which Prannoy has been suffering from.
