There is an interesting analysis of the different teams of Thomas Cup by Cai Yun if you follow this link :
    http://www.aiyuke.com/news/2016/03/4383.html?1458777626.html
It is in Chinese but if I sum up what he says of the main teams :
Japan : Sure there was great results recently, but as some individuals went into the limelight, the whole team got weaker, as the expulsion of Tago from the team is bad news for Japan, and Momota becomes better known by opponents now. Japan MD lack in attacking skill.
Korea : One can say they can get 2 points from their doubles, so everything might be decided by the third single. LHI is great, but at his age, perhaps that's a weakness.
Indonesia : They let their best people go out of the national team to teach here and there for money. Of course they have Ashan and Setiawan, but for the rest we can see that they are not serious.
Malaysia : Same then for Indonesia, but even worst. LCW is devoted, but he cannot lead his team to follow him in that spirit.
Denmark : this team is, like every time, a mystery. It can deliver the best, and it can choke. It is very stable if you consider the general level, even if Morgensen is out, but it is hard to see how Jorgensen and Axelsen will perform.

I forgot to mention what he says about China :
Now that LD is second MS, pressure is of CL's shoulder. It is almost impossible China won't get 2 points from their MS. For MD, Fu/Zhang is solid, and Liu Cheng/Zheng Siwei are progressing very fast. If they perform well, both in MS and in MD we will see the new generation taking the relay from the old.

I Hope Chen Long will not choke in pressure this time. MS1 has always been a sure point for China untill the 2014 horror show.Lin Dan- the Alien, deserves to win the sixth Thomas Cup.

Yes, I was surprised, but it seems like Cai Yun is already having some responsibilities in the team, and is positive about this second MD.

Zheng is surely very improved already and I'll select him over CB and even HW, but can he handle the pressure of a prestigious tourney like TC? Only time will tell

Yup, I missed AE and SUI Open to post something in this forum, very busy at that time :D

China needs Lin Dan desperately, he's the man for CHN TC winning team 2004-2012 as first singles. Fortunately, LD was fielded as MS2 at Incheon Asian Games Final to avoid another humiliating 0-3 losing.

It's a no brainer that China will take home Thomas and Uber Cup this year. On top of playing in front of home crowd, Lin Dan is on fire, they have Chen Long, Zhang Nan can concentrate on MD, Zhao YunLei can concentrate on WD, the WS trio Li Xuerui, Wang Shixian and Wang Yihan seems to be pacing up prior Rio. With the selection of players, they have all the upper hand to win this one if they want to go all out.

Correct! Besides the UC team need not go all out unless they face JPN! Others are still under par

Korea poses a threat for Thomas cup. Because they can get the two MD, and if they put LHI for third MS, against for example Tian Houwei, there is an advantage for the Chinese camp, but there is some risk.
The same might be said with INA. If they get the two MD, which they can, all will depend on third MS, perhaps between Christie and Tian. Advantage for CHN, but there is some risk there also.

For Uber cup, what happens if Okuhara wins first WS (she can do it), then Matsutomo-Takahashi takes the first WD? So much pressure on the second WS. WSX can take pressure, so it should be ok.

Who do you think is CHN 1st WD, TYT/YY or ZYL/TQ? Which one has the higher ranking again?

That's what happened in the last edition of Thomas Cup, Japan vs China, where Kento Momota clinched the deciding point for Japan.

I am in-line with you bro, for this year Thomas Cup, China has the added advantage as the host plus strong line-up, but Korean, Japan, Indonesia and maybe Malaysia are capable to upsetting them.

For Korea and Indonesia have to heavily depend on their MD1, MD2 and MS3 in order to upset the Great Wall of China

For Japan, they have to outperform themselves like in year 2014, chances against China - they have to win MS1, MD1 and gamble on MS3.

For Malaysia, despite little hope, but who knows they can create upset against China in MS1, MD1 and MD2.
