If you were LD, you will have too many choices.

No wonder he is so happy. Not from beating LCW but becoming CHN's No.1.
Imagine, the No.1 badminton player in a nation of 1 billion people.
    He must thank LCW.

For WS, Wang Xin is my favourite too, the kind of beautiful attacking play very few women are capable of in history. However,Wang YH is the more complete player than her at present, with Wang SX being the best in stroke and defensive play.

I thought so at first but later realised that CW knew as much that CL has become so agile in defense and good in anticipating his attacking shots that he couldn't unleash his ferocious smashes at will and score points as he usually could and is forced to bide his time which so far only Lin Dan can do to him.

Chen Long is as good as Lin Dan now

You are correct. As I have calculated, after yesterday's 2011 Denmark SSP Finals (by the BWF Ranking Points), Chen Long has overtaken Lin Dan as China's new No.1 player.

I am awaiting for this Thursday's (27-Oct-2011) BWF Ranking to confirm it. :):):)

Recognizing his age may not be able to support a physical game at London 2012, LD has moved to a more tactical game after the Beijing Olympics.

In contrast, LCW has been getting more and more physical in his playing style. LCW may have now come to the same conclusion as LD did two years ago. If that's the case, time is really not on his side to implement the change in playing style with less than a year to London 2012.

    Reviewing oneself

Could it be that after reviewing his long history of winning titles that are inferior to olympic titles, he has finally decided not to peak too early or let loose a little. Keep the big picture in mind.

One thing i notice now is that the way CL plays to defeat LCW is quite similar to LD's ways and court craft techniques. It's like they both traded secrets or something.

This is where my biggest concern is although LCW is a very independent player with a good 'thinking cap', the chinese has more than 1 thinking caps and this is where LCW loses out in terms of tactical analysis.

    The Age Thing

It's no big secret that LCW is one of the world's most dedicated and hardworking athlete, especially since his humiliating defeat some years back to LD at the 2008 Olympics.

I would think he is the person least likely to be affected considerably by age, even though is 29 now.

But we don't really know as LCW is the one who only knows his physical fitness not forgetting his entry into all finals this year. Although that is astounding, isn't that taxing physically and mentally also?

I wonder if anyone comes near to PG in terms of age and fitness.

The so-called "secrets" do belong to the national coaches not individual player's personal asset... perhaps the patents holder is the real expert, Tang Xianhu :D

Some hero(s) think they can afford to be egoistic

Not forgetting LD's character of not listening to coaches' advises most of the time, it could be very well his own 'patents'.

    Guile vs Speed

WX's win over her compatriot got me high because it's guile and trickery that won over speed and power from her highly agile compatriot. :p
