National singles coach Tey Seu Bock said "Chen Long uses the same strategy like Lin Dan and Chong Wei is not comfortable playing him at the moment. We have to do some homework and analyse a little bit more when we return to Kuala Lumpur"

Is such a strange statement, is like knowing how Lin Dan beat Chong Wei before yet unprepared until Chen Long used the same method then only think coaching staff need to do some home work?
If BAM really wants Chong Wei to win the Olympics, find some tactician to help him, I think our current coaching staff is not good enough, pardon me for saying that.

Badminton / Danish Open: Chen Long overpowers Chong Wei again

    2011/10/24
    By K.M. Boopathy
    boopathy@nst.com.my

THE revenge that Lee Chong Wei was hoping for didn't materialise as Chen Long of China defeated the World No 1 again to clinch the Denmark Open in Odense yesterday.

Chen Long defeated Chong Wei 21-15, 21-18 in 45 minutes to complete a hat-trick of Super Series titles and also repeat his Japan Open victory over the Malaysian.

Chong Wei had made it clear that before leaving for Odense last week that his intention was not to keep winning every title but the build-up to the London Olympics next year.

National singles coach Tey Seu Bock, in a telephone interview from Odense, said he is not too worried about Chong Wei's second defeat to Chen Long.

"Chen Long uses the same strategy like Lin Dan and Chong Wei is not comfortable playing him at the moment. We have to do some homework and analyse a little bit more when we return to Kuala Lumpur," said Seu Bock.

"The preparation after Japan Open may not have been enough but we still have to play here as the Olympics qualifying points are important.

"The only concern for me is that Chong Wei shouldn't get injured and he has managed to avoid them so far.

"It is still a fine achievement to reach the final again. It is not easy to reach the final in every tournament and he will be aiming for that in the French open next week.

"Chong Wei could play Chen Long again in the semi-final stage and he will try to beat him in Paris."

In the men's doubles, Jung Jae Sung-Lee Yong Dae of South Korea stopped the Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng juggernaut when they secured a 21-16, 21-17 win for the title.

Jae Sung-Yong Dae also beat Cai Yun-Haifeng in the China Masters last month.

    Results -- (All Finals)

Men's Singles: Chen Long (Chn) bt Lee Chong Wei (Mas) 21-15, 21-18.

Doubles: Jung Jae Sung-Lee Yong Dae (Kor) bt Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng (Chn) 21-16, 21-17.

Women's Singles: Wang Xin (Chn) bt Wang Yihan (Chn) 21-14, 23-21.

Doubles: Yu Yang-Wang Xiaoli (Chn) bt Tian Qing-Zhao Yunlei (Chn) 22-20, 21-16.

Mixed Doubles: Joachim Fischer Nielsen-Christinna Pedersen (Den) bt Xu Chen-Ma Jin (Chn) 22-20, 21-16.

It may be that LCW team did prepare something for LD but did not want to waste it on CL and let the secret out.

Credit should be given to Chen Long

    .
:D:D:D All this conspiracy theory. I do not subscribe to it.

Chen Long performed better on the day. Credit should be given to Chen Long.

It's now up to Lee Chong Wei to show us what he can do at this week's French Open. Probably they will face each other again at the Semi-Finals on Saturday 29-Oct-2011.

TSB's finger point to hindrance from local tournaments

    http://www.nst.com.my/nst/articles/51DENNA-2/Article

    L
CW has decided to stop competing local tournaments after 10th consecutive titles. I think its a good and wise move, in terms of allowing time for himself to recover and also to allow other players to mature.

Since Li Mao's abrupt absence from LCW

Since Li Mao's absence [during his tenure which helped LCW blossomed and bore fruit], LCW has a build-mechanism to rely on himself and has a thinking-cap better than any other local players present now and before.

Like Eddy Choong use to say, Malaysia don't feel the need to send former Thomas Cuppers to tournaments for analytical purposes. they think it's a waste of money. Anyway, I don't think there is anyone willing to step up to that job if given a chance now also.

Huh, Eddy Choong is out of touch. In the old days, there s no video so you gotta be at court side to analyze . BAM actually has someone or two to video matches at tournaments. Then they are supposed to analyze or let the coaches/players analyze. But the outcome margin is so thin now it s not enough to just summarise in terms of BWF stats. It s gotta be in such details like match energy pattern, match closing pattern, movement/speed differential, etc. That sort of analysis requires coach/player to sit through, replay, rewind, very tedious work. You think Team MAS can? Do they even know what to analyze? Team CHN thrive on such detective work. Even Team Spore are sharp enough to know what to look for, that s how Spore s Derek Wong of limited match experience can defeat badminton magician Taufik. LCW better do the video analysis himself. After a while, he will know what to scrutinize.

Who? PG? PG will win a medal in OG12. The question is what would the colour be.

That s because BAM never understand that stamina is the key factor in winning a title. To them, it s just skills, that s why their players can only win matches, not titles. And worst of all, NCC and Co thought MAS players should have a local warm up tournament before any major international tournament. Clever lawyer strategy?

My dad hates Ng Chin Chai so much. He can't understand why a lawyer holds the position as BAM secretary, let alone in charge of structuring the training program. If a MAS player lose, my dad will blame 1) player 2)BAM 3) Mr. "Cincai Everything"

CW's problem still be the mentality and confidence. "Chen Long uses the same strategy like Lin Dan..." so why CW can beat LD but not CL ? In the WC final, CW consecutively let LD chase the score, but unluckily he lost by the last 4 mental points. Why didn't he smash more actively ? I can not understand why he was so nervous even from the first set. Maybe CL have improved much, and had the tactic supports from coach but this is not new. It's not just happened just before the match, or before the tournament. Chinese coaching team must has analyzed every opponent years ago, of course include LCW. I mean the matters about CL are normal, no surprised. The problem belongs to CW and malaysian coaches. CL is still not under-no-pressure-LCW's opponent. CL may won some titles but still early to say that he reached the level of CW and LD with the playing style of only answering rival's shot.

    Agree. :):):)

Not only that LCW's problem is of the mentality and confidence, but also the pressure he is facing (as the sole Mens Singles defender for Malaysia). This is why LCW was so nervous even from the first set.

Reading through the posts about this LCW-vs-CL match in this thread, LCW was more nervous than CL. Isn't this ridiculous? LCW has more experience than CL, yet he (LCW) was more nervous. This is hard to believe.:eek::eek:
