Don't have one but From what I read it comes as a vt80 in characteristics then you can only add weight to the head not reduce.
Oh, I thought VT80's stiffness is somewherer between Arc8DX and Arc11, and Yonex specification shows 80ETN is a bit stiffer. But maybe you are right, as I have only played VT80 once...
I have Arc8DX, it is nice but feels unstable and unforgiving when I miss the sweetspot. I like the feel of ISO800, which have similar stiffness but larger sweetsopt. So bad they are not made anymore..
Please don't think that this is the original VT80 with new grommet strips. This is a completely different racket. The frame is fatter in places and doesn't have the same classic feel and looks of the original. Personally, I'm not too keen on the new colour having seen it up close and strung a number of them. Without playing I cannot comment on the aero-dynamic qualities of this racket compared to the original. I still expect Yonex have taken care of this and provided their standard quality in the frame. From stringing it I'd stick with the original however, we cannot halt progress. If this is the improved version then it's got to earn its place above the original. For that you have to decide and nobody can do it for you. Paul www.badminton-coach.co.uk
I thought that - its like they've drawn glasses on the Mona Lisa, or something. The Tri-Voltage areas are definitely porky cf with the normal 80, and the wishy-washy burgundy doesn't do it for me, either; don't go thinking it's RED-red. I just looked up the stringing pattern - they say to tie on at T6... but we couldn't!
Yes I just strung my first VT80 ETN and even though the pattern specifies to tie crosses at b6, it actually has to be done at b4. There is even a Knot indicator on the grommet at that place, which is the first Yonex racket I can recall having any indication of the pattern/knot location on the racket itself. They do that a lot in tennis and I think it's a good thing.
Balance point with strings, ETN parts and plastic wrap is about 320mm. Weight is 93.8g and stiffness seems to be the same as the original VT80.
Just compared a fren's VT80-PG n his new VT80 E-Tune recently. The former definitely has a stiffer shaft n is head-heavier...
Yonex Voltric 80 E-tune compared to the Voltric 80 peter gade edition with the etune installed the head is heavier in play. Shaft seems slightly thinner. pictures for comparison.
I really like the new design and it's matte too. They really stepped up their design since the release of the grey ARC11TH and NR900. No idea what they were thinking with the Glanz though.
I actually think the paintwork on the GlanZ looks fantastic (from pictures alone though)... it looks like a gentleman's NR800! And saw the VT80ET in real life - looks like a feistier version of the ZF2. Incredible paintwork... which is probably what Yonex needed to do after Victor caught up!
I had few sessions of game with Vt80 e tune, It is nothing like the VT80 I had, it's a new racket closely comparable to VTZF2 in playing experience. I could feel the improvement in defence compare to Original VT80 but again it's a new racket, in my openion,
Had one game with the VT80 E-T, it has a solid feel to it and somewhat similar to the ZF II though easier to play with (to me). It does feel head heavy like the ZF II that I had. Over all, nice solid racquet.
That's a great price. Much better than anywhere else really unless you're living in the US and buying online. I'm glad it's not like the VT80. Very tempted to give it a shot. But I'm personally moving towards even balance rackets instead of headheavy If I see one at the club though, I'll definitely review it.
