Once i thought china really missed its chances by not selecting wang zhenming for asian team events. But here, he lost to relatively not familiar player in 2 straight games..

Well, you are right. There are really some unexpected results today. Stayed up till late to watch all the matches involving the Koreans. Wow such a disappointment. Most of the Korean players already lost in the first round. The most unexpected result is Rajiv Ouseph won against Son Wan Ho, 21-16, 18-21, 21-19. OMG! Unbelievable result. Then earlier on Tan Aik Quan / Lai Pei Jing also created another upset by winning over Kim Ki Jung / Shin Seung Chan 21-19, 19-21, 21-19. I guess it is a disappointing day for Korea today but you are right. There are lots of unexpected result today although I do feel sad that top Korean players lost today. :crying::crying:

A rare 1st round exit for Son WH, a tight match though but going down to Rajiv, undoubtedly no pushover, still not quite what I expected.

WYH wins G1 and loses badly in G2. The solid and consistent WYH has not been seen for the last one to two years and it seems set to continue this year.

Kento Momota just sent Srikanth packing, a painful R1 exit it must be for the young rising star.

A gallant fightback from Nozomi in G3, despite 5 matchpoints down, she dug her heels in and took one point after another until 19-20 before WYH could unleash her devastating x-ct smash to finish it off.

Too bad, Nozomi has to exit so early, she is more dangerous than Akane Y for the main contenders.

Me too, I was on tenterhooks until the very end from 20-15 onward watching anxiously how WYH squandered one matchpoint after another until 20-19 before she closed it out.

Liu Xin is knocked out by Karin Schnaase. To be frank, LX has yet to convince me she has the potential to rise among the top few. She impressed me once, winning at the CHN Masters SS 2013, but has since then not lived up to my expectation.
