I can't find any data in tournamentsoftware. Likely they never met before.

Ya, winning WC19 motivated them to work hard to qualify for this Olympics, plus making amends for their disappointing outing in Rio.
Now I just wait for them to announce their retirement after the Bronze medal match.

I thought they can go on like Lin Dan and LCW, going to competitions but not expecting much.
It'll be fun to see them play. Prior to meeting Wang/Lee, they almost made badminton looks quite effortless. *at least from the matches I've watched them played

Almost unbelievable to see the Oldies Daddies, Setiawan/Ahsan, routed by the TPE MD pair, Lee/Wang, in such humiliating fashion. Originally, I actually thought of the four pairs in the semifinals, the ever dependable, vastly experienced and steady INA Oldies would be the frontrunner now for eventual MD gold.

Don't tell me age is finally catching up with them or are they also feeling the heat and getting the jitters on the world's grandest stage for sporting glory? I guess, we have to always expect the unexpected at the Olympics.

Feel free to disagree but Wang CL has the strongest smash in MD right now. He was simply getting points at will through his smash alone.

Really? I couldn't even watch. Is it more powerful than Yuta's smashes?

Depends on whether they can find the motivation to carry on. This covid pandemic show how life is fragile and unpredictable, so my guess is they will want to spend more time with their family.

He literally destroyed endo/watanabe with only 1 or 2 smashes, you know how ridiculous that was lol

The last time I've seen a player having that much power was probably FHF

I can see Daddies playing until Hangzhou AsianGames next year. THey can still play 2 WC. although with OlympicMedal at this point or not, there is really nothing to achieve anymore bar ThomasCup which is just TeamEvent

Yeah the Pandemic make everything worth a little less.

I didn't think Yuta's smashes were considered that powerful. Isn't he more known for his athleticism and defense?

I thought the smashes were good but I didn't pay attention to how powerful it was. Are you saying he has a smash even more powerful that GVS?

Yuta has a very strong smash when taking his size into consideration but I think WCL is more powerful, the angle is also something different
