@Nine Tailed Fox @LjS4 Both of them are scary. But I'm sorry guys why isn't this considered as powerful?
With the hang time like that, it can not be not powerful. My only gripe with GVS is that his smash seems easily readable, especially from the baseline. Neither his smash action nor his placement hide his intentions with the smash.
Doesn't this prove that his smash were powerful that even when it was easily readable people couldn't defend? What if Ginting was a doubles player :O
Found this, you can fast forward to around 9:10 minutes Yuta has got some hang time... is that even human?
FHF are probably more powerful but I prefer watching ahsan simply because he's so unpredictable from the backcourt, and he has this lazy motion when he hit from the backcourt which make it more satisfying when he hit a winner
Have you seen the three tournaments in Thailand? He was already in great form back then. Seemed the stronger player to me in the matches I watched, more pressure from the back, and more urgency in his defense (i.e. trying to get the attack more or at least moving the opponent around). Cant wait to watch this match, I always enjoy their play when they're having a decent (or better) day
The usually weaker Lee saved him against Endo/ Watanabbe though. Was a walking mistake due to nerves creeping in but Lee decided to become a Badminton God that day.
Not on your life, man He might've gotten shorter lifts, but his power and penetration was way behind Fu's Just watch that 2005 AE or 2006 WC final and how he actually puts shuttles on people's chests from the very back, I've never seen anyone else do that. 2009 AE was pretty insane too, that Korean pair's defense looked damn pedestrian before him Also had one of the craziest jumps, I'm pretty sure he hit the shuttle higher and more powerfully than Ahsan (or anyone else for that matter, maybe, just maybe, excepting someone like KSH who had a pretty crazy jump as well) Imop those "one smash one kill" videos don't really show much about the quality of the smash when 90% of them are hit from half court
Before the start of the tournament did anyone expect China vs Chinese Taipei MD Final? After losing the 1st match against India ,the Chinee Taipei team havent looked back . Though I am not aware of their head to head (against the Tower dudes) but I believe they are favourites to win considering their form. Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
You need to watch weightlifters jumping and Yuji Nishida (Japanese volleyball player) - he just seems to float, absolutely insane
Didn't say anything about usually weaker or stronger (or mean to imply such a thing), just that WCL was very strong at the start of the year already
Peak Ahsan really fascinates me. There was something about his smashing action that paints a scary image in my mind.
Oh yeah, completely different type of jump, but if he finds the hang time of badminton players jumping fascinating, it's really cool to see those guys. Those were recommendations, not a comment on Yuta's jump
Because that record was horse s*** and that pair had a fairly short peak in form Also, Koo really was the flashy one of those two, and TBH could never rain down dozens of really hard smashes, unlike JJS, FHF, KSH and the likes. He had a really high ceiling, but couldn't often reach it, so to speak...
