I know how you feel, this is what alvin ng clementi did to me and i consulted a few stringer told me alot of stuff.
i had a thread posted but someone just closed it with some lame excuses. doesnt mean a tournament stringer with big certs is always good but have pros and cons which i had heard from many stringers. i have gone to many reputable stringers. Johnson72 and me saw the cons of alvin ng, but many of them out there have not get the **** he gave or i should say keep quiet over it. atypical comments was reasonable. I shouldnt comment more about it.
But anyway we should just be thankful that badminton as a sport is considered affordable in Singapore. It is also most important that one is comfortable with his/her stringer. Having to drive 100 miles for a string job in the USA is the most extreme thing I would do for badminton.
Hi there, You all may try a home based restringer who had recently open a shop at Tampines, Far East Sports. A nice chap called leong formely work in Ion, Li ning and participate in Superseries Sinapore open as a restringer. Highly recommed for his good work and service given. you may contact him at 91832991.
For freelance stringer, usually how much will they charge if we provide the string. Meaning we don't buy the string from them.
Nowadays, I would go to Atric Sports (Sembwang, Sembong road) for stringing. It is 5 sgd per string job if you bring your own string. Mr Lim is a nice and responsible stringer who inspects every racket (grommets and cracks) before he starts his stringing.
Hi all, May I know who are using the digital machines for stringing? At my stage, I haven't been able to tell the optimal stringbed based on feel of hitting with racket Logically n naturally I will choose a stringer who has invested in himself or herself a certification and a good stringing machine Hope there is someone who is serious in their work and their customers Happy to see some suggestions Thanks a lot!
Kemin Sports Store 140 Upper Bukit Timah Road #02-12 Beauty World Plaza (Building right next to Macdonalds) Singapore 588176 Tel: 6469 4825 Operating Hours: Daily until 7/8pm I've been stringing there for 10+ years since school days until now. Shop owned by an uncle and aunty. Both are stringers. They sell the cheapest grips in town IMO and can do it for you. Overgrips are priced cheapest at $2. Karakal grips at $4.50. Stringing price wise for Yonex BG66 it's $17/18, the usual market price. My string can usually last for quite long so I feel their stringing quality is quite good. If you bring your own string, they will just charge labour costs of $8. What I like most about them is I can usually get my racket after 30mins! So if you are in a hurry you can go over there and get it done quickly instead of coming down again to pick up. A thing to note is they're not using digital stringing machines so advise to tie a bit higher tension if you're used to digital machines.
Hello Everyone, - Gala - Chau Beng - New Link - Smash Sports Who would you rate the best among the above mentioned in regards with pricing and good stringing, I am planning to go today for Stringing my Brand new Racquet
None. Their stringing service not really good in my opinion and it's expensive some more. Try Ang mo kio E-link sport or Sembawang sembong road mr lim. I myself do stringing service but i am using crank machine and i won't rate myself my stringing service is top. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
Thanks Mate..!! This was close to my work place and I even carried my racquet today, hence i thought would give it over there for stringing. Any good suggestions around Paya Lebar. Cheers, Harry
