Hi Guys, I've had really good experiences with the following stringers: 1) Mr.Leong, home stringer, Far East Sports, Tampines street 34. There have been a few reviews on this thread I think, charges are very very reasonable (I took my own string, so not sure of the price without string), good quality fast work, no chips on the racket, string is nice and tight with good tone. Look him up on Facebook. He strings for super series events as well. 2) Alvin of Outstanding Badminton, Kent Ridge MRT, his store opened recently. Alvin and Irene do outstanding work, have had 2 rackets with different strings done, very good quality work, pick up and drop of rackets, string nice and tight, holds tension quite long and have had no breakage issues. Will check and replace grommets and grip included in the price of stringing. CRSA certified. Look up his number from Facebook and ask for Irene or Alvin. Will even advise on the right tension (if some noob get s a 27lbs string job and injures his shoulder, they lose business in the long term). Both these guys are consummate professionals with the right creds; if I have access to Schumacher's mechanic for my car, and he is giving it the same attention at a cheap price, why not? If their work is good enough for professionals, its good enough for me.
Any good stringer will change them; the string is at risk of cutting against the frame otherwise. One of my rackets came with replacement grommets, but stringers will have replacement grommets, they are usually standard size and purchased in lots.
Alvin ng strings my racket and it break at 1st time too, twice. So naive believing his reviews....that his tring gives good feeling ...er. Stringing at other places and it lasts a lot longer.
it is about the way you hit not about the stringer.... the string will break if you hit hard at off centre at those weak spots...
