Zhao Junpeng is simialr mould to tianhouwei, both journeyman with nothing special to win anything against the best players.

WHY is way above their level, him and LSF should be the next 2 for first in for any events.

If WHY can stay consistent, I won’t be surprised if he can make the olympics, i just feel bad for him though as I don’t see him getting chosen over SYQ and LSF.

i mean to be fair to LZJ, if he does continue to play the french open, it would be his 4th tournament this month of october alone.

No, I searched for this Gill Clark and it's not her that I was referring to. This person's commentating and attitude are all fine.

I meant this one, you can hear her voice at 1:58 announcing "... from China, Weng Hong Yang..." and again at 40:50.

I can't describe it, but like terrynguyen121988 said, her voice sounds like a rubber duck to me. If she's a "special person", then I'm sorry, but even then, her announcing is so annoying given that these are all supposed to be important moments.
I'm not trying to make it out like it's some dealbreaker, it's just been bugging me out for a really long time and I want to find out more about this little annoyance.

NEW RECORD So after watching the rematch I can confirm we have a World record of fastest smash by WS player ever and obviously its PVS with 403Kmph in this tournament she broke her own record of 374 Kmph recorded against CYF in SF of WC 2019.

Well, if LZJ had won the DO, I bet he would want to continue his winning momentum to FO. The number of tournaments played would not have been used as an excuse.

O.k., I thought it was the commentary team, can’t help with that, we don’t get to know who the arena announcer is really.

Info for younger generation: we are talking about the Lin Dan like at Olympics final 2008. Not the old LD who used to empty his nose to the court at the end of his career

During that era, there were just the two players at the top end while the rest are in different tier by far. Currently, except for VA, the rest of the top 10 are pretty even. WHY has the potential to become Lin Dan at his best, hopefully he gets his opportunity to showcase that in Paris 2024.

had he won he still would have played a ton of competitive matches for a month which would still take a toll on his body. lzj has played 3 tournaments in october, not his usual early outs but reached quarters for AG, won arctic open and finals for DO. not really that far fetched to say that fatigue has built up. Why risk injury playing for FO when theres still China/Japan Masters to get points.

im not saying that fatigue was the reason he lost, just that its reasonable for LZJ to skip/withdraw from the FO.

I’ve just rewatched the whole match again, whether it was WHY was on it on the day or LZJ fatigue played a part,
the most telling thing is he lost his head, he was clearly angry with how little effect his efforts where,
from the point where he look at his bench and gave “what do I do” gesture in the 2nd set at 7-4 going to 8-4,
he never once made eye contact again with his coaches, in return the coaches knew how he was feeling and just sat with folded arms and no input.

But I still like LZJ’s power game, his stick smash especially backhand is fabulous and only matched by Axelsen,
you know how good his is, even Momota back in the day when he had him in his pocket used to give a wry smile of admiration when he buries one on him in his anger. :D

Good question, it’s not Rivas for sure, if it is his appearance has changed.

edit : it’s Anders Thomsen, part of Marin’s coaching team since 2008.
