Oh dear, after all the interesting matchups in Tier 1-- even TPE vs RUS MD & MS went to 3 games (RUS, please find Sirant a MD/ XD partner while he's still young)-- I think we are finally going to get a white-wash...

But it's great that Germany took their promotion to Tier 1 to give all their youngsters a chance to play in a world championship...Michael Fuchs' "successor" Mark Lamfuss has a chance to take GER vs MAS XD to 3 games like they did with JPN

UPDATE: Hooray! Alan & Steen are commentating MAS vs GER in the afternoon-- this means Gillian & Lars will be commentating the biggest match-up in Tier 1 tonight: INA vs IND!! Thanks goodness, BWF knows what it's doing!!!

Yes, Bobby's the one-- his accent is a bit thick, so he needs to speak more slowly and deliberately like the Danish commentators make themselves do...

Basically he's just a bro you're watching badminton with ("hey, look at that-- you see what's happening?") who points out things you might not notice, but that's okay by me.

Frankly it is okay man. Badminton doesn't have many good commentators. I would always appreciate some specialist and coaches presence during commentary.

This means I would appreciate if we can have many more coaches to commentate once in a while.

John Burgess commentary is an acquired taste, and I have come to like it. Maybe i'd like him to be more objective, rather than stroking the ego of players. Some would say GC does the same, but at least she has some technical analysis and other detailed stats (which I find interesting) to back that up.

What do india have to do to get the Women Single as the first match? I reckon sindhu has to play WD or XD?

I don't think Sindhu will play doubles hereafter.

India has to win MS, WS and WD if they need to go further. Even that too is not certain. Indonesia has to lose to Denmark.

But if india play like as if they did yesterday, there is a chance. Yesterday, they did a big blunder fielding Ajay Jayaram for MS. Pressure captilized him.

TWK/GVS won. MAS 3-0 vs. GER. The white GERMAN made too many unforced errors.

I feel like there are many indian crowds in the stands (vs Denmark). In this team situation, they can give a huge lift and there is chance india can upset. Of course not sure about the indonesian people in australia whether more will come to watch or not.

You hear the MAS crowd during MAS vs. GER today. I am sure there will be more INA crowd to cheer later for sure.

INA fans are the best travelling fans. I remember a large INA crowd turned up for the 2014 Thomas/Uber Cup in India.
We can expect a good Indian and Indonesian crowd! This will add to the match pressure and excitement. :)

    INA v IND line-up (TV Court) :

XD, Tontowi Ahmad/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja v Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Ashwini Ponnappa
MS, Jonatan Christie v Kidambi Srikanth
MD, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo v Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Setty
    WS, Fitriani v Pusarla V.Sindhu
WD, Della Destiara Haris/Rosyita Eka Putri Sari v Ashwini Ponnappa/Reddy N. Sikki

A decisive tie for both teams to determine their path here, really interesting encounter. India and Indonesia have sure point through Sindhu and Gideon/Sukamuljo respectively while three remaining matches could go either way, unpredictable.

XD is a surprise for me, I was expecting Sikki/Pranaav.
Looks to be a fierce battle leading to an exciting badminton tie! :)

It made me wonder. The schedule is quite clear enough(biased toward stronger nation),why dont schedule it in such a way that Korea vs Taipei meet in the first day or 2nd day. as well Japan vs Malaysia. So that there is juice for weaker country. Cant say little things like that wont make a difference.

16 year old Satwik plays both XD and MD. He don't have time to rest. After MS, he has to come again.

INA wants to play their best combination. Praveen did not participate in the simulation so Praveen/Debby is not going to play now.

Oh well XD is very risky for INA, I prefer Tontowi/Debby for this tie, I don't like Gloria style, slow and many errors

Tontowi never plays with Debby ever... I don't think that is the right combination right out the bat.
