No it just means LD won 2:0. I think that's different from the meaning of "whitewash" (as has been used in this forum).

Who said LD didn't smash in the match? Could you give me the source? I really doubt that LD can get that many points from CJ without any smash. LD is definitely not that much better. If it's from tournamentsoftware, than I guess it's due to some mistake. Such mistake has appeared before in 2007 French Open LD 2:0 TH.

And yes I can believe the score. If LD can lose to LCW 8:21 in an opening game in 2007, in a 2nd game in 2006, can lose to CJ 9:21 in an opening game in 2008, why not 4:21 in a 3rd game?

    ^^The eyewitness, amongst other eyewitnesses..^^

..and his account of that match can be read in the "side new Djarum Open 09" thread. And his screen-name's initial starts with the letter "h" (lower case 'h').;)
    - 8 and 9 points is quite a gap from 4 pts. Like i mentioned before, it's Taufik Hidayat-2006 Japan Open MS Final-like (except that one was a total meltdown by Taufik)..

    Thanks!

Hmm. In that case it seems something weird happened. We all know that in the previous "fixed" matches (say AE08 final), CJ won 2:0. It's very hard to believe that LD can take one set from a normal form CJ without smashing. So it seems now that both LD and CJ wanted to lose, but then LD turned out to be the more determined one. :D

Btw, according to tournamentsoftware, LD has 13 "smash winner". Far less than normal of course.

    And..

..what do you think that "something weird happened" could've been??..
Was LD fatigue? Was he injured? Did he lose interest in playing? Did he feel he is being targeted by LCW's heat-seeking missile?

    Want to see that match..

..i'd also want to see that CJ vs. LD QF Rd. match. Anyone seen a video of it, yet?? Just want to see how much of an effort did LD (or even CJ) exert out...
..individual competition? never. Team competition? yes (2x as a matter of fact).;)

    My consipracy theory

There may be a hidden rule. After you lost the first set, you are supposed to loose the match. LD not happy with this rule (well known in his sobbing interview to reporters a few years back), wanted to show everyone he is better, fought back in second set to win and in the 3rd set loose by a large margin to embarrass the coaches.

why not - it's not a proof here.. and 4:21 is not a 9:21.. and first game is not a finishing game
