Vietnam and Cambodia only consist of 5 and 4 players respectively for Thomas Cup as both countries don't take part in Uber Cup contest.
Thailand Men and Female team will likely withdraw from the tournament due to the current situation the players have with TBA. Most of their top players have resigned from the national team. Together they signed a resignation letter during a press conference. That includes Boonsak, Salakjit, Sudket, Songphon, Kunchala, Saralee, Vilaklak, few others and even the coaches. It has became a shocking news in Thailand. Waiting for more news and hopefully the involvement of the government.
I'm sure the Thais will suit up. Definitely a bargaining strategy. What are the issues at hand... curious.
what the h what happen in tba? mind to tell us? i find this http://www.thaibadminton.com/main/modules/welcome/ but i cant understand at all argh! what happen?
seems confrontation between association and players (or coaches) not only happen in INA >>>we were shocked when some top INA players were resign (Taufik,Vita,Flandy,Alvent, etc etc). maybe some other countries has the same problem too but not blows up yet... but this THAI "shocking" news is really2 more shocking... in just a couple of days before the preliminaries round started and will take place in THAI...wow wow wow... but i dont think its a final decision...TBA not stupid right..just let them go and use a young and unreliable players in TCUC Preliminaries.... or where is their (players and coaches) nationalism feeling ?? even Taufik,Alvent were glad to be the part of the team... well lets wait and see, some news or rumors are very appreciated here... keep posting guyss
It's due to the sponsorship. From the story I've received, TBA decided that they want the whole team to be sponsored under the same brand which is Yonex. But as we all know Thailand team are mainly sponsor by various brands. And so TBA said if the players do not want to break their contract with the other brand then they are free to go. The players have all left the TBA hostel. And because most players their contract are going to end and there are a better chance of them taking on Yonex, except for Boonsak whose new contract with Kumpoo just started, TBA actually made him pay for all his own expenses, air tickets and accomodation for Korea and Malaysia Open. Things have gotten quite out of hand, the players think it is unfair that is why they are all leaving.
lol that is a unwise decision by tba i believe it is because some financial benifit from yonex to tba so,congrates to tba u have lost both slot for tc and uc dont try to restict them to participate in any individual tournament they want in future if not
