Hey guys..i think this questions fits best in this thread...does anybody know if the players are allowed to give their shirts away? At the german championsships Marc Zwiebler told me that the yonex players arent allowed to give their shirts away anymore...i want to have a shirt from a top player
Welll... Be lucky What you should know is that they generaly randomly throw their shirts/racquet in the crowd... Also you can ask an autograph (or something else ) to them if they are in the stadium 'cause their tribune is close to the the crowd's and some time they walk in the same rows as we do, end use the same doors as us....
BAM believe ‘isolation preparation’ can reap success in world meet “Our post-mortem report (after the Thomas Cup Finals) concluded that training in isolation would be good for the players. There will be less distraction and they can focus more on training. They will be able to get sufficient rest too,” said Chin Chai. “Besides, the climate and time difference in Paris is similar to that in England. In fact, it is cheaper for us to stay at the Bath University because of the MoU (Memorandum of Undestanding) signed between the university and the Malaysian government. “Malaysia have never won the world title and we want to stay focused on achieving success there although it will cost us a little more. “If we fail at the world meet, it will show that we have failed in our processes. But we think, this approach is worth trying.” BAM general manager Kenny Goh said the team would only be charged £1,300 (RM6,330) for the use of the state-of-art sports facilities at the university. There will be additional costs for accommodation (ranging from £18-£45 per night), food (£20 per person) and flight. “The players will be able to use the badminton courts for six hours per day. The use of the swimming pools and gymnasium are for unlimited hours. We believe that this arrangement will be an advantage for our team,” said Kenny. http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/7/17/sports/6682919&sec=sports
(semi-continuing from the "BAM News" (in the M'sia Professinal Players sub-forum) thread): ..i wonder where would the MAS team stay & train if they didn't sign a MOU with Bath University??..or would they go straight to Paris instead?..
If I understand, the BAM players will prepare WC in England, right ? Btw I think the isolation can work, after the failure at TUCups, where they trained in public (?)... <<~*^ 1k posts !! ^*~>>
I don't think it will bring much difference, except to get used to the time change and probably the climate and all. MAYBE that will help performance. Expecting more from LCW. At least a silver this time
I personally expect more from Kkk/Tbh... This year is very bad for them, a medal at WC can elevate it but the recent results aren't those of a pair than can bring medal from WC..... The WD can also bring a medal, and that's it, because XD and WS aren't that good..
aiya... the Boleh players go there to visit Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, Champs Elysees and most importantly, Gallaries La Fayette :O lolx.... BOLEH... BOLEH... BOLEH... lolx
Hey here's the schedule of King Usain Bolt last week (he was in Paris for the Areva Meeting) : The race was on Friday During Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday he had a conference, gone to the TV for a live interview, shown his new clothes collection on Champs Ellysees, mixed live as a DJ during the Jamaica party for 15minutes and eat chicken nuggets, he only trained the evening.... He won the race against Powell.. That's the kinda preparation Mas players need
lolx... our Boleh pairs had a different style of training though... they went to Batu Cave to run up and down the stairs.... wow... sure can beat Bolt and Powell in MD... lolx...
Here's a few news : Today was Day-30 : the championships starts in one month ! Approximativelly 90% of the tickets were sold, that represents 25k tickets. Now the official website show each day "the player of the day". They already spoke about TH, LD, LCW, PG. http://www.badminton2010.fr/fr/component/content/article/234-joueur-du-jour-taufik-hidayat I heard on a sport radio (which is a sponsor of the event) an advert. The intro is somewhat like "300km/h is the speed of a formula one (they also are sponsor of F1)... But it's also the speed of a badminton smash !!!!"
And now that I time, here's the list of all the sponsors : Title sponsor/Baddy court equipment sponsor : Yonex. We all know what that firm is. Official sponsors : Allianz (insurance company), Citroën (French car manufacturer, for those who know the 5 time WRC rally world champion Sebastien Loeb uses a Citroën ) Official supporters : Société Générale (French bank), GL Events & Stand'Up (both are event pro organizers), Euromedia Sports (organizing, media equipment), Parfums et Saveurs (??) Official suppliers : Eau de source Cristaline (mineral water supplier), Powerade (energetic water supplier) Public partners : Ministère de la santé et des sports (French ministry for sport and health), Centre National pour le Développement du Sport (National Center for Sport Development), Ile de France (name of the Area which includes Paris and the suburbs of Paris, it's like Fujian is an official precise area in China, dunno how to explain ), La Mairie de Paris (City hall of Paris, Paris' mayor) Media partners : Eurosport (~+- 20 hours of badminton on the channel !), RMC (French radio, based on News, Talks and Sport)
The draws will be out Monday the 9th, at 2pm KL time. They are done in the BWF Offices, in KL. http://www.badminton2010.fr/fr/component/content/article/246-j-6-avant-les-tirages-au-sort
We are not sponsors YET ;-) . Maybe one day at Badzine, but we'll provide the Official website with live videos (interviews, etc) and also, we'll have, at Badzine, our own coverage with a NEW LAYOUT.... As for SOLIBAD, unfortunately, the French BA has not helped us at all, unlike many other nations, just for an administrative reason. Anyways, too bad for them as we grow all over the place - some surprises soon... ;-)
