Sindhu shows class in consoling Tai. Sindhu deserves a lot of respect. She’s the GOAT of Indian badminton.
Sikki/Ashwini left, PV left, Looks like Gopi got too little to claim for, even sparring partners are not from Gopi's Academy, this will be interesting to see.
Nicely written article. It was a very endearing moment watching him celebrate Sindhu’s winning point. I guess he will be going back to Korea. A hard act to follow.
TTY always came across to me as a nice and humble person based on her interviews. No wonder both Sindhu and Saina(despite being older) greatly admire her.
I have to agree with arjevo here. TTY is scary good. But I did not see anything special about 'yesterday'(semi finals). She has been playing at near that level since about late 2014 or early 2015. Rather, what struck me was the lack of aggression in Sindhu. The difference between Sindhu and CYF - Sindhu was slowing the game by either lifting it high allowing TTY to get under the shuttle and also played too much close to net which is TTY's plus. She was not confident enough to take some risk. And the unforced errors she was making did not help her confidence either. CYF did not allow TTY that much time and she mixed it well to make it unpredictable for TTY. I saw the game more as Sindhu losing rather than TTY winning.
The life of such a coach is a hard one. Moving to another country away from friends and family. How long do you think he will stay in India?
https://www.eenadu.net/sports/newsarticle/general/0402/121156883 Very nicely written article in Telugu daily about coach Park, how he improved defense, speed of movement, didn't to home for a long time though his son is just 4 years old etc.
One telugu interviewer: Since park came what is Gopi's involvement in you preparation actually: PV: Not involvement at all. Interviewer: Did Gopi and Saina called to congratulate? PV: Gopi messaged 'congrats', Saina and I won't talk much. It felt to me that Park may leave.
